Complete adhesion of the labia minora: The left and right labia minora are connected by a thin layer of gray membranous tissue. There is a small hole in the center of this membranous adhesion, and urine can be seen discharged from this hole.

The labia minora are not completely adhered: but the tissue at the adhesion part is thicker. If the upper parts of the two labia minora are stuck together, covering the clitoris, urethral opening and most of the vaginal opening, urine will be discharged from the crack below the adhesion. If the lower parts of the two labia minora are stuck together, covering the vaginal opening and urethral opening, urine will be discharged from the crack above the sticking part.

There are two causes of labia adhesion: congenital and acquired. 1. This is mainly due to poor cleaning. The skin of the labia minora is thin and tender, which is susceptible to various infections and abnormal stimulation and is prone to exudation. Over time, the labia minora connected on both sides will adhere together.

2. Being too lazy to change the baby's diapers, the baby's tender vulva is often soaked in smelly diapers, and the urea and other substances in the urine will irritate the vulva.

3. The child's vulva is exposed, and they do not pay attention to cleanliness. They sit anywhere or wipe the vulva from the anus to the vulva with toilet paper after defecation, which can easily cause bacterial infection of the vulva and vulvitis.

The treatment method for labia adhesions depends on the thickness of the adhesion tissue. If the adhesion is relatively thin (this is the case with Dudu) and the adhesion line is visible in the middle, apply estrogen or chloramphenicol ointment 1-2 times a day, and then use the thumbs of both hands to gently and slowly pull the left and right labia majora apart to the sides. The labia minora can be separated after a few weeks.

Note: If it is not particularly serious, you don’t need to use estrogen or other application. Just use your fingers to separate the diapers after changing and washing them. However, when the baby is very active, he will be very uncooperative. Parents need to be patient and skillful so as not to hurt the baby.

Use a cotton swab to pick it open and apply anti-inflammatory medicine.

If the adhesion tissue is thick and the above methods are still ineffective, it is recommended to go to the hospital for medical treatment. The doctor will use manual separation or probe separation, and apply erythromycin ointment plus a small amount of estrogen ointment after separation. This can effectively prevent the labia majora from adhering again after surgery.
