Newborns are a very vulnerable group. Since they have just been separated from their mothers and exposed to the external environment, they are easily infected with diseases. In order to ensure the health of their newborns, many parents will take X-rays of their newborns for examination after they are born. However, some newborns were shown to have inflammation in the right lung when taken X-rays. There are many causes of neonatal lung inflammation, and further examination is needed. So, what is going on when the newborn's X-ray shows inflammation in the right lung? Neonatal pneumonia can be divided into neonatal aspiration pneumonia and neonatal infectious pneumonia according to different causes. The former can be divided into amniotic fluid aspiration pneumonia, meconium aspiration pneumonia, and milk aspiration pneumonia.1. Neonatal aspiration pneumonia The chemical inflammatory reaction/secondary infection in the lungs of newborns due to inhalation of amniotic fluid, meconium or milk is collectively called neonatal aspiration pneumonia. In addition to the syndrome with airway obstruction and dyspnea as the main clinical manifestations, chest X-rays show lung inflammatory changes of longer duration. The clinical manifestations vary depending on the nature, amount and depth of inhalation of the inhaled material. (1) Amniotic fluid aspiration pneumonia refers to the fetus inhaling a large amount of amniotic fluid in the uterus or during delivery. It generally refers to the fact that the amniotic fluid is not contaminated. The clinical severity is related to the amount of amniotic fluid inhaled. (2) Meconium aspiration pneumonia It is the result of inhaling a large amount of amniotic fluid mixed with meconium during delivery or in utero, and is the most common aspiration pneumonia that occurs before or during delivery. A syndrome with respiratory distress as the main clinical manifestation. Pathological changes include mechanical obstruction and chemical inflammation of the respiratory tract. It is more common in full-term or post-term infants. (3) Milk aspiration pneumonia refers to the inhalation of milk into the respiratory tract during swallowing, causing symptoms such as suffocation and dyspnea. When secondary lung infection occurs, it is similar to bacterial pneumonia. The severity is related to the amount and number of times inhaled.
It can occur before, during, or after birth. treat: 1. General treatment Strengthen home care for the child, clean the dry secretions in the nasal cavity in time, pat the baby's back regularly to help cough up phlegm, open windows for ventilation at any time, but at the same time pay attention to keeping warm and do not let the baby catch cold again.
The antibacterial and bactericidal effects of antibiotics are very good and can effectively inhibit lung inflammation. However, frequent use of antibiotics is not good for the body, especially for newborn babies. Commonly used antibiotics include: erythromycin, penicillin, cephalosporin, etc. 3. Oxygen therapy Mainly suitable for critically ill children. When their respiratory function fails, they need to breathe in enough oxygen through a machine. 4. Other supportive treatments Such as giving the baby fresh blood or plasma, giving intravenous drips to replenish glucose in the body, etc. |
