What should I do if my baby is introverted and timid?

After a person enters society, if he is particularly timid and introverted, he may not even be able to find a job. This is the reality. In fact, many Chinese families are relatively traditional, and they are even stricter when it comes to educating their children. Parents will scold their children no matter what they do. Over time, the children will not only become timid, but also very introverted. So, what should we do if our baby is introverted and timid?

Don’t easily draw conclusions about your child: “He lacks self-confidence”

In fact, there are many reasons why a child shows lack of confidence. Maybe he is a little shy in front of others, maybe he is indeed a little timid, or maybe he is unwilling to show himself in front of outsiders. But children have their own ideas. Therefore, we should not blame children easily.

Never criticize your child in front of him all the time, as this will cause him to lose self-confidence. You know, children's self-confidence needs to be cultivated. When a child makes progress, adults should encourage him in time; when a child encounters setbacks, parents should give appropriate help and encourage him to overcome difficulties. The key to cultivating children's self-confidence is to let children understand themselves correctly and know their strengths and weaknesses.

If you find your child is timid, don't hesitate to guide him/her as soon as possible.

Some parents think that it is not a big deal if their children are timid and that it will naturally get better as they grow up, so they do not provide educational intervention. Such parents lack sensitivity. In fact, if a child’s timid character is not educated, it will develop into an avoidant personality. This kind of personality limits oneself to a small circle of self for fear of dealing with the outside world, whereas people develop through interaction with the environment.

Therefore, in the long run, the ability development of such people will be hindered. Slow development of abilities, introverted and avoidant personality are signs of unhealthy psychological development. Therefore, we must be vigilant and provide timely education for timid children.

Let go and discipline your children

We must dare to let go and allow our children to be trained in life. Some parents always treat their children as babies, or are afraid that their children cannot withstand being beaten, so they often say: "You can't do it" or "You are still young". Parents' over-care for their children will make their children timid and fearful, lacking in independent spirit and adaptability, and they will become panic-stricken and at a loss once they leave their parents. Moderate setbacks and hardships are indispensable assets for a child's growth.

Parents should never deprive their children of this ability easily, but should let them play freely. Children especially like to play with sand and mud, and parents should try not to interfere with how they play.
