What to do if your child has neurogenic urinary frequency

Frequent urination is a very common symptom in our lives, and most people who suffer from frequent urination are men. If men have prostate diseases, they are particularly prone to frequent urination and urgency. For children, most of their frequent urination is neurological. They urinate very little each time, but urinate very frequently. So what should children do with neurological frequent urination?

What to do if your child has neurogenic urinary frequency

Some parents may notice that their children, especially when they are 4 to 5 years old, cry out to go to the toilet more often every day, but their daily urine output has not increased. When the children go to the hospital for examination, routine urine tests are found to be normal.

The child's urination frequency may increase from the normal 6 to 8 times a day to 20 to 30 times, sometimes more than ten times an hour. The amount of urine each time is very small, sometimes only a few drops. After falling asleep at night, the situation will be much better. It is usually worse before going to bed, during meals, and in class. If a child has this symptom, it may be because the child suffers from neurogenic urinary frequency.

(I) What is neurogenic urinary frequency?

Neurogenic urinary frequency is an independent disease in pediatrics. The age of the affected children is generally between 2 and 11 years old, and it mostly occurs in preschool children. Its characteristic feature is frequent urination, every 2 to 10 minutes. The children have an urgent need to urinate and cannot hold it for a moment. Younger children often wet their pants because of this, which may lead to urinary tract infection or genital eczema.

(II) Performance

This type of child always wants to go to the toilet during the day, but goes less frequently at night. Children with frequent urination urinate frequently, and want to go to the toilet again right after they finish urinating, and the intervals are also different. Young children are most likely to develop neurogenic urinary frequency.

(III) Reasons

Because the baby always wants to go to the toilet, he cannot concentrate on playing games. He is troubled by going to the toilet every day. Over time, it will become a bad habit that is difficult to get rid of. Some children also suffer from frequent urination, which is mainly due to the birth of younger siblings and changes in family life, which cast a shadow on the children's hearts and cause frequent urination over time.

They are too sensitive to wetting their pants. They will tell their parents even if they feel the slightest urge to urinate, and will change their clothes by themselves after wetting their pants. This will make the children very worried about wetting their pants, so they will go to the toilet as soon as they feel the slightest urge to urinate, resulting in neurotic urinary frequency. For such children, try to stabilize their spirit and emotions.
