The role of acupuncture in the treatment of cerebral palsy in children

Cerebral palsy in children is currently a common and difficult to cure disease among children. Cerebral palsy in children is a disease that affects a child's entire life. Not only does the child not walk normally, but his intelligence is sometimes also affected. Acupuncture treatment is currently receiving much attention in the treatment of cerebral palsy in children. The therapeutic effect of acupuncture is also effective to a certain extent. Today I will mainly introduce to you the role of acupuncture in treating cerebral palsy in children.

Acupuncture treatment mainly reflects the correlation between the meridian points on the body surface and the internal organs from the outside to the inside, while the pathological reactions of the acupoints reflect the correlation between the internal organs and the meridian points on the body surface and their pathological connections from the inside to the outside. Acupuncture treatment of cerebral palsy is mainly reflected in the effect of acupuncture on the function of the nervous system:

Specifically, it should be discussed from the following aspects:

1. The effect of acupuncture on peripheral nerve function: The basic function of peripheral nerves is to sense stimulation and conduct impulses. After acupuncture, the acid-soluble phosphorus and phospholipid phosphorus in the zoo decreased, the nucleic acid phosphorus increased, and the protein phosphorus showed no obvious change, which is closely related to the metabolic changes in which acupuncture promotes nerve regeneration and functional recovery. A large number of experiments have shown that acupuncture has the effect of causing excitement on peripheral nerves, generating nerve impulses that are transmitted to the central nervous system and causing various adjustment reactions.

2. The impact of acupuncture on the lower parts of the central nervous system: Experiments have confirmed that acupuncture at Neiguan, Hegu and Zusanli can eliminate index finger fatigue and improve local blood circulation. A large number of experiments have confirmed that the excitatory or inhibitory effects of acupuncture on the reflex regulatory centers in the spinal cord may be the primary reactions caused by the adjustment effects of acupuncture in these areas.

3. Effects of acupuncture on the function of brainstem reticular formation:

(1) Effects of acupuncture on the lower brainstem: Experiments have shown that the enhanced gastrointestinal motility caused by acupuncture of the Gongsun, Zusanli, and Renzhong acupoints in animals, or the stimulating effects on the circulatory and respiratory functions of animals with hemorrhagic shock, no longer appear after transection between the spinal cord and the medulla oblongata. However, if only the brain is removed without manipulating the nerves and spinal cord, the effect of acupuncture can only reach the brainstem, but its regulatory effect on blood pressure can still occur. A large number of experiments have shown that acupuncture can have a significant impact on the regulatory centers at all levels of the brainstem, and adjust the body's functions by changing the functional state of the central nervous system.

(2) The effect of acupuncture on the regulatory function of the hypothalamus: A large number of experiments have shown that acupuncture points can affect the functions of the hypothalamic temperature regulation, water balance and other centers and the secretion of pituitary gonadotropin. Further experiments have proved that the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus plays a very important role in acupuncture analgesia, especially in acupuncture inhibition of pain response.

We may not quite understand the treatment principles mentioned above. After all, acupuncture is an ancient medical skill passed down for thousands of years, and it has its profoundness. But we can roughly understand its pathological principles. At the same time, we should treat acupuncture treatment and the treatment of cerebral palsy in children correctly.
