What nuts are good for young children?

Many parents believe that nuts are good for adults and cannot be eaten by children. This idea is wrong because such nutritious foods are also very good foods for children. Babies can eat nuts such as chestnuts, pine nuts, peanuts, walnuts, etc., and the nutrients in these foods can promote the physical development of children, so they can be eaten in moderation.

What nuts are good for babies?

1. Chestnut

Chestnut is a nut with the lowest fat content and the highest starch content. The vitamin C content in fresh chestnuts is higher than that in tomatoes and apples. The rich unsaturated fatty acids and phosphorus in them help the baby's brain development.

Note: Babies over 2 years old can eat chestnuts. Chestnuts are high in starch and carbohydrates, so you will easily feel full after eating them. However, do not feed your baby more than 6 chestnuts a day.

2. Pine nuts

Pine nuts contain a lot of fat, and the main components of their fat are unsaturated fatty acids such as linolenic acid and linoleic acid, which are important substances for the development of baby's brain cells. Eating them regularly can also improve the baby's immunity.

Note: Pine nuts have a high fat content, so it is not advisable to eat too many of them every day. No more than 30 pine nuts a day will be enough. The best way to eat it is to fry it in the shell and feed it to your baby.

3. Peanuts

Peanuts are rich in high-quality protein and lipids, especially linoleic acid, which is beneficial to the development of the baby's nervous system and enhances memory.

Note: It is best not to feed your baby more than 10 peanuts a day. For young babies, cooking peanuts can preserve the various vitamins and minerals contained in peanuts to the greatest extent. However, peanuts can easily cause allergies in babies. If there is a family history of allergies or the child himself has an allergic constitution, he should be careful when eating peanuts.

4. Walnut

If you eat walnut kernels, you will inevitably think that they look quite similar to our brain. Walnuts really do have the effect of "like cures like". Walnuts are very important for the development of baby's brain tissue, especially for babies who are in a period of rapid growth and development.

Note: Walnuts are very high in fat, so babies with poor spleen and stomach function should not eat too much. Walnuts contain tannic acid, which easily combines with calcium, iron, etc. to form insoluble substances. Therefore, when eating walnuts, do not eat foods containing these nutrients at the same time. It is best for babies to eat no more than one walnut a day.

5. Sunflower seeds

Sunflower seeds are rich in unsaturated fatty acids, high-quality protein, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, selenium, vitamin E and vitamin B and other nutrients. Giving it to your baby regularly can help improve their resistance.

Note: Try to let your baby eat original melon seeds, and avoid processed melon seeds with various seasonings added. Be sure to peel the shells when eating to prevent children from chewing the seeds and damaging their teeth. Of course, babies should not eat too many melon seeds. A small handful a day can provide the amount of vitamin E needed by babies for a day.

6. Hazelnuts

Vitamin E accounts for 36% of hazelnuts, so hazelnuts have a good skin care effect and can also enhance the baby's immunity. It is also worth mentioning that hazelnuts contain 8 essential amino acids for the human body, which is rare in the nut family. They are also rich in beta-carotene, which is beneficial to the baby's eye development and can protect the cardiovascular system.

Moms should take note: Hazelnuts sound really nutritious, but be aware that hazelnuts are very high in fat. If your baby has poor bile duct function, you should use them with caution. Your baby should not eat more than 20 hazelnuts a day.

7. Almonds

Usually, the almonds we eat as nuts are sweet almonds. They are not only rich in protein, but also contain a lot of fiber which can reduce hunger. Sweet almonds can also promote skin microcirculation, making babies have rosy little faces.

Note: There are two types of almonds: sweet almonds and bitter almonds. Almonds produced in southern my country are called sweet almonds, also known as southern almonds, and are a member of the nut family. The almonds produced in the north are bitter almonds, also known as northern almonds. They have a bitter taste and are often used as medicine. It is best not to give them to babies as snacks.

It is best for babies to eat no more than 6 sweet almonds a day.
