What to do if your child has intellectual disability?

For pregnant women, why do they need to have regular prenatal checkups and why do they need to pay attention to a healthy diet? The main purpose is to ensure the health of the fetus. Moreover, once there is a problem with the development of the fetus, it can easily cause lifelong pain to the child. Especially some children with intellectual disabilities may encounter various difficulties in life. So what should parents do if their children are mentally retarded?

Memory and digital calculation ability: including children's attention training, attention, memory training, memory enhancement training, strengthened memory training and multiple ability coordinated training. These trainings are very effective in treating mental retardation. I hope parents will read them carefully.

Motor skills: Train children to master large movements such as crawling, turning over, sitting, standing, walking, running, and jumping. Also train children's limb flexibility and accuracy. Start by training children to grasp large, close objects, to fiddle with objects, to fine movements such as unbuttoning, threading a needle, and finally to complex movements such as disassembling and assembling objects. In addition to auxiliary treatment, exercise is definitely essential.

Ability to understand, reason and judge: This part is the most important part of intelligence. Common abnormalities in comprehension ability include: inability to use personal pronouns such as "you, me, he (she)"; reversal of words and confusion in their use; frequent repetitive language; inability to use situational language; peculiar voice, which is obviously different from that of ordinary people in terms of volume, speaking speed, rhythm, and pitch; simple and stereotyped form; no active language, and he will say whatever he is told. This not only teaches the children a lesson, but is also very helpful for their condition.

Language ability: When the child cannot speak yet, you should talk to him/her and communicate with him/her emotionally. Let your children listen to more music, conversations, nursery rhymes, stories, etc. to enhance their language perception and comprehension abilities, and teach them to pronounce single sounds in an entertaining way until they can learn simple words and sentences. The development of language skills is a step-by-step and sequential process and should not be rushed. I believe that such children will definitely be outstanding.
