How to prevent your baby from falling off the bed

Babies falling out of bed is a headache for many parents. Some babies are young and have no regular sleeping pattern. After being tossed around several times by their parents, they may fall asleep due to exhaustion. At this time, the baby may fall out of bed. It is better to have preventive measures. If there are no preventive measures, the baby will inevitably be harmed. So, how to prevent your baby from falling off the bed? Let’s take a look at the methods below.

1. Install guardrails on the crib

This is the safest and most reliable way. The baby will not fall to the ground easily no matter how much he crawls or turns over in the crib with guardrails! The mother can also put some of the baby’s favorite toys in the crib so that he can play with them however he wants without worrying. However, when the baby grows a little older and learns to climb, such a crib will not be so safe, and the mother must watch over the baby carefully! In addition, the spacing between the crib guardrails must be less than 10 cm to avoid the dangerous situation of the baby's head being stuck.

2. Homemade small fence on the parent's bed

If your baby does not have his or her own crib, then when he or she sleeps in your bed, parents should make a small fence on the bed to prevent the baby from rolling over and falling off the bed. For example, you can put the baby between the quilt and the pillow. Use a thick quilt with the side that can be pulled open facing outwards. Turn your back to the baby to prevent him from pulling the quilt open and covering his face and being unable to break free, causing suffocation! Don't place this small fence too close to the baby, and leave space for him to turn over on both sides for movement. This way, the baby will not be able to flip out easily.

3. Pay attention to safety outside the bed

It is recommended that parents put some softer things on the ground around the bed, such as sponge pads, foam pads, thick blankets, etc. In this way, even if the baby accidentally falls off the bed, there will be no serious injury. In addition, it is best not to place dangerous items such as tables and thermoses near the bed to prevent the baby from falling off the bed and getting hurt.

4. Always pay attention to your baby's movements

If the mother is alone at home and needs to do housework, she can put the baby in the stroller and fasten the seat belt. The advantage of placing the baby in a stroller is that it fixes the baby's activity coefficient and reduces the occurrence of accidents. Or when the baby is active during the day, you can directly put the mattress on the floor and put a crawling mat around it. This is basically equivalent to sleeping on the floor, and there is no need to worry about falling off the bed.
