Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment of Precocious Puberty

Precocious puberty is not a new term. In fact, many young parents are concerned about this issue. After all, modern children have grown up in an environment with relatively serious pollution, and they may inadvertently eat a lot of hormonal foods in their daily diet. In addition, with the opening of various electronic products, the probability of modern children experiencing precocious puberty is still very high. Of course, precocious puberty is an unhealthy symptom, so how can we use traditional Chinese medicine to treat it?

1. Nourishing yin and reducing fire: 90 children with true precocious puberty were treated with a precocious puberty mixture (raw Rehmannia root, Anemarrhena asphodeloides, roasted tortoise shell, Phellodendron chinense, Scrophularia ningpoensis, Prunella vulgaris, etc.). The treatment course was 1 to 4 years, with an average of 1.79 years, and the total effective rate was 86.7%. 23 cases of precocious puberty in girls were treated with Sancao Decoction (raw Rehmannia root, Phellodendron chinense, Anemarrhena asphodeloides, Artemisia annua, Ligustrum lucidum, Lycium bark, Moutan bark, Eclipta prostrata, etc.), with an effective rate of 90%.

2. Soothing the liver and purging fire: Chaihu Juye Decoction (Bupleurum, Juye, Curcuma, Paeonia lactiflora, Prunella Vulgaris) was used to treat 30 cases of idiopathic central precocious puberty in girls. After the condition improved, they were switched to Xiaoyao Pills for 2 to 6 months. After treatment, most of the premature developmental signs disappeared, along with the disappearance of symptoms, and the hormone levels were highly statistically significant compared with those before treatment.

Xiaoyao Powder with added ingredients was used to treat 34 cases of precocious puberty in girls. The efficacy was observed after 9 weeks and it was found that after treatment, follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone dropped to normal levels, and no toxic side effects were found.

3. Resolving phlegm and eliminating stagnation: 150 cases of true precocious puberty were treated with Kangzao No. 2 prescription (processed Pinellia, tangerine peel, Poria, Trillium, Sargassum, Anemarrhena, Phellodendron, etc.), while the control group took Zhibai Dihuang Decoction for 3 months. Results: The total effective rates of the treatment group and the control group were 84.0% and 66.7%, respectively, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant. The Anti-Early Breast Formula No. 2 can reduce enlarged breasts, and the volume of the uterus and ovaries will decrease after treatment. A total of 46 cases of precocious puberty in girls were treated with anti-precocious granules (tangerine peel, processed pinellia, poria, anemarrhena, phellodendron, raw rehmannia, peony bark, selfheal, raw hawthorn, and fructus aurantii) of which 16 were markedly effective, 20 were effective, and the total effective rate was 78.26%. After treatment, the girl's clinical symptoms improved significantly, the level of estradiol (E2) decreased significantly, and the clinical indicators of the child such as breast development, uterus, ovary, and bone age also improved significantly.
