If a child has tooth decay pain, distinguish the severity and then treat it

Children love candy, so tooth decay is a common problem for them. This leaves many parents helpless and they blindly use medication for treatment. In fact, tooth decay can be divided into three types: mild tooth decay, occlusal tooth decay and tooth decay that causes nerve pain. Parents must find out the stage of their children's tooth decay and then prescribe scientific treatment. Only in this way can children get rid of the pain of tooth decay as soon as possible.

1. Mild tooth decay (shallow caries): use fillings.

For those with mild tooth decay, the symptoms are not very obvious, and the teeth will become slightly discolored. This is in the early stages of tooth decay, and it can be easily fixed with timely treatment.

During this period, it is recommended to use anti-caries fillings to fill the gaps between teeth.

The fluoride in the filling can restore the decalcified teeth to a hard enough state, so there is no need to repair the teeth in a hurry.

2. Occlusal caries (middle caries): resin filling

When tooth decay occurs at the bite point of the teeth, it will invade the tooth structure and needs to be taken seriously!

Tooth decay at this stage has already affected the overall bite of the teeth and has a tendency to develop further. It needs to be taken seriously and not be taken lightly.

At this stage, you need to go to a professional dentist to remove the decayed parts of the teeth and fill them. Composite resin is the best material to use.

If a tooth is half decayed or a large cavity occurs, it will seriously affect the bite of the teeth.

In this case, it is not possible to restore the tooth's original shape by filling it. In addition, the adjacent teeth may not be strong enough, so it is recommended to use artificial crowns, that is, braces, to restore the appearance and function of the teeth.

The original teeth are formed in one piece, but after the teeth are filled, there are tiny gaps between the filling material and the teeth that are invisible to the naked eye. Therefore, the filled teeth must be cleaned more than healthy teeth, and more attention should be paid to the intake of beverages and snacks.

3. Tooth decay causes nerve pain (deep caries): from root canal treatment to tooth extraction!

Root canal treatment is a treatment performed when a tooth has severe tooth decay, trauma, or periodontitis that has caused lesions in the internal pulp tissue. Its goal is to restore the health of the tissues around the root apex and preserve the tooth.

The steps of root canal treatment mainly include: removing inflamed or necrotic pulp tissue, root canal debridement, and completing root canal filling.

If the pulp tissue is diseased and root canal treatment is not received in time, it will be infected by bacteria, which may cause tooth pain, swollen gums, or inflammation and defects of the bone around the root. In severe cases, it may lead to cellulitis, etc.

Generally speaking, root canal treatment will only be performed after the doctor confirms that the tooth pain is caused by tooth decay that has damaged the nerve permanently.

If a diseased tooth cannot be treated with root canal therapy, tooth extraction is another alternative way to solve the problem.

If a tooth that has undergone root canal treatment is not protected or is simply filled, it is easy for the tooth to crack due to the force of the bite when chewing.

Once the root canal is broken, the chewing function will no longer be possible due to severe pain. The only solution is extraction, which will result in tooth loss.

Every tooth is an important screw for human health. Hollow teeth need to be filled as a solid foundation, and finally protected with dentures to help with chewing function and avoid biting.
