Newborn baby redness

Newborn baby redness

Anyone who has watched TV knows that many newborn babies are very small. When the nurse carries them out of the delivery room, they are only the size of a towel, wrapped in a small ball. We will also find that the body of a newborn baby is not white and smooth, but wrinkled and red all over. New parents may worry that redness will affect the baby’s health. So what is the reason why newborns’ bodies turn red?

Many new parents become extremely nervous or even caught off guard when facing any physical abnormalities in their baby, and they don’t know how to take care of their baby in their daily life. So, what are the precautions for newborn care? What should I do if my newborn baby has small red spots all over his body?

What to do if a newborn baby has small red spots all over his body

If a newborn baby has small red spots all over his body, it is very likely that he has eczema. Generally, there are many causes of eczema, and it is not necessarily caused by breastfeeding. Do not use hot water to wash eczema, and do not wash your child's face with soap to avoid irritation. After washing your child’s face, you can use some children’s skin care cream on your child. The baby should have eczema, which is a process that almost all newborns have to go through. Eczema is related to fetal toxins, mother’s diet, climate, indoor bacteria, etc.

It is generally recurrent and will relapse after recovery. Treatment usually starts with dietary management, avoiding excessive feeding to maintain normal digestion. If you suspect you are allergic to milk, you can boil it for a longer time to denature the protein, which can reduce allergens. Or you can choose a low-allergy formula milk. If necessary, you can use goat milk or soy milk instead of milk. If egg white allergy is suspected, give egg yolk alone, or start with a small amount of egg white and gradually increase the amount. Breastfeeding mothers can stop eating eggs.

1. Do not let your child eat too much. For breastfeeding mothers, be careful not to eat foods such as mackerel and shrimp that may cause allergies. If your child drinks milk, you may want to boil the milk for a longer time. When adding complementary foods, do not add egg whites first. It is best to add a small amount of egg yolk first, and then gradually increase the amount. Children's food should not be too salty.

2. Neither the mother nor the baby should wear clothes made of silk or wool fabrics to avoid causing or aggravating allergies.

3. Do not use hot water to wash eczema, and do not wash your child’s face with soap to avoid irritation. After washing your child’s face, you can use some children’s skin care cream on your child.

Neonatal care

First, pay attention to the living environment. A newborn's bedroom should be quiet, clean, elegantly decorated and have plenty of sunlight. If conditions permit, the baby's internal temperature can be controlled between 21 degrees and 24 degrees, and the room temperature is around 60 degrees to 65 degrees.

Second, pay attention to hot and cold care. Because newborns have poor temperature regulation function, they need to keep warm in winter and prevent heatstroke in summer. They also need to add or remove clothes in time according to changes in temperature.

Third, pay attention to skin care. The skin of a newborn is delicate and easily hurt, so you should be gentle when handling it and wear loose, soft clothes. Do not button or use pins. Use warm water to scrub the skin folds, clean them after each urination and defecation, and dry them with a towel.
