In the process of taking care of children, what mothers worry about most is that their children will get sick. Children have relatively poor disease resistance and often catch colds and fevers. If children have frequent fevers, and each fever reaches over 30 degrees, it will make the children very uncomfortable and the mothers particularly anxious. Therefore, in life, we should pay attention to letting children eat more nutritious food and exercise more, which is very helpful for their health. What causes frequent fever in children? 1. Non-infectious fever It is not caused by various infectious diseases. It is caused by sterile substances or various inflammations acting on the body temperature regulation center, dysfunction of the body temperature center, or excessive heat production and reduced heat dissipation due to various reasons, resulting in a temperature rise exceeding the normal range. 2. Fever of unknown cause The broad concept of fever of unknown origin refers to all people with fever of unknown origin. However, the narrow concept of fever is still used clinically, that is, fever of unknown cause. Fever persists for more than 3 weeks, with body temperature above 38.5℃, and a clear diagnosis cannot be made after detailed medical history, physical examination and routine laboratory tests. 3. Central fever Central fever can also cause the baby to have repeated fevers. Central fever refers to fever caused by abnormalities in the body temperature regulation center due to lesions in the central nervous system. Before diagnosing it, fever caused by systemic or local inflammation and other causes of fever should be strictly excluded. Intracranial diseases accompanied by fever are mostly critical cases, and the fever in most patients is caused by intracranial inflammation, lung infection, and urinary tract infection. For those with unexplained moderate fever whose source or cause of infection cannot be found at the moment, it should not be easily assumed to be central fever. Systemic or local infection causes should be repeatedly sought to exclude them, and attention should be paid to drug fever and other causes of fever. How to care for a child with a fever 1. Maintain a restful environment for children Quiet, comfortable, humid, regular ventilation indoors, adults are not allowed to smoke. 2. Reduce clothing and bedding. When the child has a fever, remember not to let him/her dress in too many clothes, cover him/her with too thick a quilt, or even "cover up the sweat", so as not to affect the heat dissipation and cause the body temperature to rise higher. For many young babies, body temperature can be lowered simply by reducing the amount of clothing and bedding. 3. Wipe your body with warm water or take a bath. While paying attention to keeping warm and preventing the child from getting cold, undress the child and rub the whole body with a towel in warm water (around 37°C) or take a bath. This can dilate blood vessels in the skin and increase heat dissipation. In addition, when water evaporates from the body surface, some heat will also be lost. 4. Drink more water. Give your child plenty of water to help sweat and prevent dehydration. Water has the function of regulating temperature. It can lower body temperature and replenish water loss in children. Taking vitamin C or eating more fruits rich in vitamin C can effectively promote the recovery of children's colds. 5. Physical cooling method. Apply a cold towel to your forehead, then soak it in cold water and apply it again after the towel becomes warm. For older children, using cold water bags or ice bags may be more effective. You can also choose to use pediatric cooling patches for children. |
