Why does my child cough after running?

Cough is one of the most common symptoms of influenza, but it may also be caused by other reasons. If a child coughs, it will affect the child's daily life, mood, etc. Therefore, if a child coughs, it is important to seek medical attention in time, and mothers should pay special attention to the child's diet and daily routine at this time. All of these can help children recover better. So why do children cough after running?

1. Exercise-induced asthma: After strenuous running, children will experience symptoms such as coughing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness due to excessive mechanical stimulation of the ventilation, or due to heat dissipation and loss of water during running, which causes the airways to be stimulated by dry and cold air, leading to the release of allergic mediators.

2. Cold air stimulation: In winter, when the temperature is low and the weather is cold, the child's respiratory system may not be fully developed. When running, the cold air in the air enters the lungs and stimulates the respiratory system. It has a greater stimulation to the respiratory tract. After running, the throat will hurt and there will be coughing.

3. Incorrect breathing method. After the child has run for a while, breathing through the nose can no longer meet the body's demand for oxygen, so he opens his mouth wide to breathe, inhaling a large amount of air, which causes certain irritation to the throat, resulting in coughing after running.

4. Not doing warm-up exercises. Many children do not warm up before running, and suddenly run very fast. In this way, the body and various organs have not yet started to move, which can easily lead to shortness of breath and coughing. In addition, the speed fluctuates during running, which can cause unstable breathing and easily cause coughing and wheezing.

5. Inhalation of haze or other foreign objects. When children are running, they can easily inhale haze, dust, particles and other foreign objects in the air. Especially when they have difficulty breathing and open their mouths wide to breathe, the inhaled foreign objects will irritate the respiratory tract and cause coughing.

6. Dehydration of the body During running, a lot of salt and water will be lost due to sweating. If water is not replenished in time, dehydration will occur in the body.
