Mucus and curds in baby's stool

Mucus and curds in baby's stool

If the baby's stool contains mucus and curds, it can be treated with hot compresses on the abdomen, oral medications, intravenous infusions, etc. The treatment method needs to be determined based on the cause and severity of the disease.

1. Hot compress on the abdomen: If there is mucus and curds in the baby's stool, it may be caused by the stimulation of cold air on the abdomen. When the abdomen is exposed to cold, gastrointestinal motility may be abnormal, and food in the intestines may be quickly expelled. Abdominal pain or abnormal stool symptoms may occur. It is best to use a hot towel or hot water bottle for abdominal hot compress treatment to promote local blood circulation and expel the cold air in the intestines.

2. Oral medication: The digestive system of infants is not fully developed after birth. If the infants are fed too much milk at one time or eat cold milk, it may increase the burden on the gastrointestinal tract and cause abdominal distension or indigestion. There may be mucus or curds in the stool. It is necessary to go to the hospital for a routine stool examination or ultrasound examination to determine the condition. You can take stomach-strengthening and digestion-promoting oral liquid or pediatric chicken gizzard powder under the guidance of a doctor to quickly control the condition.

3. Intravenous infusion: Intravenous infusion is a relatively fast treatment method. Infants have relatively low immunity, so they may suffer from gastroenteritis and abnormal stool after acute or chronic inflammatory infections. They need to be treated with intravenous anti-inflammatory drugs.
