How to deal with high jaundice in babies?

What to do if the baby has high jaundice and how to reduce it is a question many parents want to ask. When newborns are born, some of them show symptoms of jaundice, with yellow skin all over the body, including urine and feces. The severity of the disease varies depending on the condition. When this symptom appears, parents should not be too anxious, because most of these symptoms are physiological. 1. Treatment of physiological jaundice

(1) Drink boiled water. The baby must be fed 30 ml of boiled water every morning and evening, and should also drink an appropriate amount of water during the day so that the baby can eliminate jaundice as soon as possible.

(2) Drink glucose. When you find that the baby's jaundice index is high, you can drink some glucose water. Add glucose to water and feed it to the baby. This is an effective way to remove jaundice.

(3) Sunbathing. Around 10 o'clock every morning, when the sun is not very strong, let your child bask in the sun, trying to expose his skin as much as possible, but avoid exposing his eyes.

(4) Stop breastfeeding. If the above methods do not work, then stop breastfeeding for two to three days. Because the cause of high jaundice may be breast milk, the jaundice index will drop after stopping breastfeeding.

2. Treatment of pathological jaundice

(1) Take medicine. Go to the hospital to measure the jaundice index. If it is still high, the doctor will prescribe jaundice control medicine for the baby.

(2) Expose to blue light. If it is pathological, the baby needs to be hospitalized and treated with blue light under the guidance of a doctor. That is, the baby will be placed in an incubator under blue light treatment.

Generally speaking, most cases of infant jaundice are physiological and do not require special treatment. It will subside in about two weeks, so mothers do not need to worry too much. If the jaundice does not subside, it must not be ignored.
