Baby's teeth are yellow

Many babies have the problem of yellowing teeth when they are teething. This problem may be caused by many factors, such as genetic factors, food dyeing, the influence of drugs and water quality, and bad oral hygiene habits, all of which can cause the baby's teeth to turn yellow. Below, we will introduce in detail the common reasons why baby teeth turn yellow!

1. Genetics

Some children with yellow teeth have parents with unhealthy teeth, and the children have inherited the dental characteristics of their parents, so their teeth do not develop well. If the deciduous teeth are yellow, it may be because the mother did not supplement enough calcium during pregnancy, resulting in poor development of tooth enamel.

2. Food

There are many kinds of bacteria on the surface of teeth. They secrete many sticky substances on the surface of teeth. The intake of colored food will leave pigments on the teeth. These pigments will be adsorbed on sticky substances. Over time, these substances will penetrate from the surface of the teeth into the inside of the teeth, forming internal stains, gradually turning the surface of the teeth yellow or black. Such teeth are called exogenously stained teeth.

In our daily diet, we inevitably eat colored foods. Except for light-colored foods such as tofu and eggs, most other colorful and colorful foods are the cause of yellow teeth. In other words, as long as your teeth have "close contact" with color in your life, they are completely likely to be stained and turned yellow!

3. Drugs and water quality

If a child takes tetracycline drugs during the stage of tooth development, especially children under 8 years old, it is easy for the teeth to discolor into tetracycline teeth. The fluoride content in some areas of the water is particularly high. Drinking it for a long time can easily cause your teeth to turn yellow and become fluorosis. These stained teeth are called intrinsically stained teeth. This dark tooth pigment is buried deep in the teeth and cannot be reached by daily brushing. Only through special whitening methods can the teeth be reborn.

4. Hygiene habits

If children do not develop the habit of brushing their teeth correctly morning and evening and do not pay attention to oral hygiene from an early age, it is easy for a layer of food residues, soft plaque, tartar and other substances to accumulate on the surface of their teeth. This type of yellowing of teeth is not caused by the teeth themselves, but is caused by not paying attention to oral hygiene.
