What does 闹醒 mean?

Sleeping fussiness is an abnormal behavior, which basically happens to babies. After this happens, it will have a great impact on the baby's life, causing jet lag and the baby in this case will directly affect the sleep of others. However, there are some ways to solve the problem of sleep fussiness for babies. Maybe some people still don't quite understand sleep fussiness, so what does it mean?

A fussy sleep refers to a one-year-old child who always cries and makes a fuss before going to bed. Once an adult picks him up, pats him, and rocks him, he will quickly fall asleep. Even some older children need adults to pat them or feed them a nipple before they can fall asleep.

Children’s “trouble sleeping” often makes some parents upset and even lose their temper with their children. Little do people know that children’s bad habit of fussing during sleep is often cultivated by adults.

Develop good sleeping habits

(1) Go to bed on time: 0.5 to 1 hour before the baby goes to sleep, the baby should be calmed down, not watching stimulating TV programs, not telling tense or scary stories, and not playing with new toys. Wash your face, feet and butt before going to bed at night. Have your child empty his bladder before bed. Clothes that are taken off should be placed neatly in the corresponding places, and you should go to bed and get up on time. Gradually develop the habit of going to bed and getting up on time.

(2) Fall asleep naturally: After the baby goes to bed, turn off the lights at night; during the day, draw the curtains to make the room slightly darker. Adults don't have to tiptoe around after the baby falls asleep. Babies who are used to sleeping in an overly quiet environment are easily awakened. Just don't make any sudden loud noises, such as a door slamming or metal utensils falling to the ground. It is important to cultivate good habits for your baby to not talk, pat, rock, hug or hold him/her after he/she goes to bed, to lie down automatically, to fall asleep quickly, and not to cry after waking up. And let your baby develop good habits of not covering his head, not holding the pacifier, not biting the corners of the quilt, not sucking his fingers, not putting toys on the bed or sleeping with toys, and not putting clothes on the bed. For children who cannot fall asleep automatically, you should give them verbal care, but never give them any indulgence. Let the baby rely on his own strength to regulate his state before falling asleep. Don't use rough, forceful or intimidating methods to get your child to sleep. Some babies are afraid of the dark, so you can install a table lamp at the head of the bed and teach your baby how to turn it on and off so that he can control the darkness and help him fall asleep peacefully.

(3) Comfortable sleeping position: Babies over 1 year old have formed their own sleeping position. You should respect the baby’s sleeping position. As long as the baby sleeps comfortably, it doesn’t matter if the baby sleeps on his back, stomach or side. If your baby wants to go back to sleep right after drinking milk at night, it is better for him to lie on his right side, which is conducive to the digestion and absorption of food. If your baby sleeps for a long time, you can help him change his position.

(IV) Dealing with restless sleep: Some babies have restless sleep at night, are easily startled, and cry. Their parents will immediately pick them up and pat them and coax them to fall asleep again. As a result, the babies quickly get used to sleeping in their parents' arms and will not fall asleep without patting or coaxing them. To this end, it is necessary to find out the cause of any occasional crying in the middle of the night. For example, if the patient has been wronged during the day, listened to thrilling stories, eaten too much before going to bed, or is hungry, thirsty, wets the bed, has underwear that is too tight or too hard causing physical discomfort, or has abdominal pain caused by intestinal parasites or other reasons, or nasal congestion caused by respiratory infections, etc., targeted treatment can be given. If there is no physical illness, the child's sleeping environment should be changed, such as letting him sleep alone; if he wakes up at night, parents should overcome their anxiety, neither touch the child excessively nor be irritable or lose their temper, then the crying at night can be corrected by itself.

(V) Notes:

① Keep bedding clean, dry it in the sun at least twice a week, and wash it at least 3 to 4 times a year; the thickness should be changed in time with the season. ②Open windows in the bedroom frequently to ventilate and clean the room. In summer, you can sleep with the windows open, sleep outdoors, or sleep under a pergola. In cold seasons, you can open 1 to 2 ventilation windows when sleeping. You can close the windows 20 minutes before your baby gets up to increase the room temperature and prevent your baby from catching a cold when dressing.
