If a child's body temperature is low, it will lead to many situations. Parents must pay more attention. If there is a problem, they must go to the hospital for a detailed examination. Moreover, body temperature is not fixed and will change with mental and pathological reasons. These need special attention. If the body temperature is too low, only drug treatment measures can be taken. Normal value Normal body temperature Normal body temperature varies slightly depending on the test site. Commonly used body temperatures include: oral temperature, rectal temperature and axillary temperature. 1. For oral temperature, place the thermometer under the patient's tongue and take it out after closing the mouth for about 3 minutes. The normal range is 36.3℃~37.2℃; 2. For rectal temperature, disinfect the thermometer, apply lubricating oil, insert it into the anus, and take it out after three minutes. The normal value is about 0.3℃~0.5℃ higher than the oral temperature; 3. For axillary temperature, it is the most commonly used temperature measurement method because it is convenient and hygienic to measure. The measurement method is to clamp the thermometer in the armpit and read the value after five minutes. The normal range is 36.1℃~37℃, which is about 0.2℃~0.4℃ lower than the oral temperature. Precautions Body temperature is not fixed and may fluctuate with factors such as gender, age, day and night, exercise and mood changes, but such changes are often within the normal range. Inspection process The method to measure normal human body temperature is to measure the temperature once at around 8 am, 3 pm, and 8 pm, and measure it for several days in a row. The most stable value is the normal body temperature. When measuring body temperature, you should first shake the mercury column on the thermometer to below 35°C, and then wipe and disinfect it with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. Most people test the temperature by placing the thermometer under the armpit. For young children or unconscious children, the rectal temperature can be measured. Hypothermia can occur when the body loses more heat than it produces due to prolonged exposure to any temperature. Hypothermia most commonly occurs in cold weather or after immersion in water but can occur in the summer or warm weather if metabolic or activity heat production (shivering) is unable to maintain core body temperature. Hypothermia can also occur after severe trauma. Being immobile, wearing wet clothing, wind chill, and lying on cold surfaces increase the risk of hypothermia. |
