Why doesn’t my baby gain weight after six months?

It is said that children's bodies grow very fast, and the clothes you bought a few months ago may not be able to wear them now. After all, the nutrients that children absorb every day are very rich, thanks to breast milk. Especially in modern society, because the food is of higher quality, children grow faster than children a decade ago. However, some parents have found that their children's growth rate slows down after they are six months old. What is the reason for this?

There is a saying that a baby will grow for 100 days after birth. During this time, if the baby grows well, his weight will double and his height will grow a lot. After 100 days, the growth will slowly slow down. Basically, if the baby is well fed, some of them may gain one or two pounds a day in the first month, but not all babies meet this standard.

When babies reach 6 months old, their development speed begins to slow down. What is particularly obvious is that the weight that was previously increasing rapidly now shows a tendency to grow slowly. Weight increases by about 600 grams per month and height increases by 1 cm. Although the baby's physical growth is not obvious, the baby's intelligence level is improving rapidly. This is also one of the more obvious characteristics of a 6-month-old baby in the entire development process.

A six-month-old baby's physique is further developed and his nervous system is becoming more mature. At this time, the baby has almost started to grow deciduous teeth. Usually, the two lower central incisors (lower front teeth) grow first, followed by the upper central incisors (upper front teeth), and then the upper lateral incisors. When six months old: the baby boy weighs 5.9 to 9.8 kg and is 62.4 to 73.2 cm long; the baby girl weighs 5.5 to 9.0 kg and is 60.6 to 71.2 cm long. Head circumference 44 cm, two teeth have come out.

At this stage, except for some worries about teething, the baby's life is full of endless vitality. He always twists and turns when I feed him or change his diaper; he arches his back and bends over when I hold him; which is actually saying, 'Put me down, I have other things to do.' At this time, children have more complex emotions. They will laugh when they are happy, lose their temper when they are dissatisfied, and become scared and fearful when their parents leave.

Therefore, the baby's milk intake will not increase much after six months, but other complementary foods will need to be added to meet the baby's daily nutritional needs.
