What’s going on when my 2-year-old baby has green, mushy stools?

Babies need to go through multiple stages in the process of growing up, and in each stage, each baby has his or her own habits. Of course, these habits include not only eating habits, work and rest habits, but also bowel habits. Parents need to understand this more. Some parents have found that their babies, who are just two years old, always have green, mushy stools when defecating. What is the reason?

1. Catch a cold

If the milk the child drinks is a little cold or the child's abdomen or feet are cold, the stool may turn green.

This is because catching a cold can cause the intestines to move too quickly, and the biliverdin in the colon does not have time to be reduced to bilirubin, so it appears green. This is one of the common causes of green stool. Green stools caused by this reason may also have symptoms similar to a cold. If you only have green stools, pay attention to keeping your abdomen warm, especially at night, and you will recover in a few days. If you have cold symptoms, you should also receive symptomatic treatment for the cold.

2. Hunger

Some babies do not eat enough, and hunger will speed up intestinal peristalsis and cause green stools. Babies may cry and be restless due to hunger, which can be easily distinguished from the other situations mentioned above. In this case, just increase the amount of milk and make sure the baby is full.

How to arrange a reasonable diet for a 2-year-old baby

1. Eat small, frequent meals

The stomach contents of a two-year-old baby are very limited, so he must eat small meals frequently, and it is appropriate to arrange four to five meals a day for him. The diversity of food should also be taken into consideration, including vegetable puree, fruit puree, as well as animal food such as meat puree and egg puree. Finally, considering the absorption problem, it is necessary to arrange milk for two-year-old babies twice a day, morning and evening. Milk is also very good for the baby's growth and development.

2. Thickness and thinness matching

In order to train the gastrointestinal function of a two-year-old baby and make his stomach and intestines as flexible as possible, it is necessary to match coarse and fine foods in the diet. The so-called coarse means adding an appropriate amount of rice and some bean products to the recipe, which can also train the chewing function of the baby's teeth. The so-called fine grinding means pureeing all the beneficial vegetables, then mixing the purees together, adding them to the dishes, and letting the baby eat them. Of course, it would be better if careful mothers could add some variety when arranging the recipes.
