Why does my baby keep shaking his head?

Why does my baby keep shaking his head?

The baby's every move touches the parents' hearts, and parents can always discover some abnormal phenomena of the baby at the first time. For example, many parents find that their babies like to shake their heads while taking care of them. In fact, there are two reasons that lead to this problem. One is psychological, such as when playing or foraging, and it may also be pathological. Lack of trace elements, itching on the back of the head, and some other diseases can cause this situation to occur!

1. Lack of trace elements

If your baby shakes his head, it may be due to a lack of certain trace elements. Such as calcium, zinc and so on. If your baby shakes his head like this often and at fixed time periods, it is best to take your baby to the hospital for diagnosis. So that mothers don’t worry or become suspicious.

2. Itch in the neck or back of the head

Your baby's shaking head may be caused by an itch on the neck or back of the head. After the baby is active, sweat usually accumulates on the neck and back of the head. The baby feels itchy and uncomfortable, so he will shake his head to scratch the itch. Because the baby is small and can't scratch himself. Mothers will understand if they touch these parts with their hands.

3. Playing

If your baby shakes his/her head, it may be because he/she is playing. Some babies find that shaking their heads left and right allows them to see different scenes, which is fun and they will play on a whim. Mothers can check their baby’s facial expression to see if it looks leisurely and curious. If so, there is no need to worry too much.

4. Itchy ears

Your baby's shaking head may also be caused by itchy ears. Careful mothers will find that their baby’s earwax and nasal mucus are sticky and a bit watery. When the earwax dries, a small part of it will remain in the baby's ears and cannot come out. When the baby feels itchy, he will shake it left and right to get it out. Moms will know after checking.

5. Foraging

If your baby shakes his/her head, it may be that he/she is looking for food. Many mothers are used to feeding their babies while lying down (the editor has been fooled), so the babies form the impression that they should be fed on both sides. When it is hungry, it will shake back and forth like this, bumping left and right to find its mother's nipple. Isn't it so cute?

6. Disease manifestations

A baby shaking his head may also be a symptom of certain diseases. If the baby keeps shaking his head, crying and looking very painful, mothers should pay attention. It is best to take the baby to the hospital for diagnosis to avoid delaying the disease.
