Can children smell the art of cangshu?

In spring, there will be a shortage of Atractylodes lancea in many places. Generally speaking, Atractylodes lancea is non-toxic, has no irritating smell, and is not corrosive. Children can smell it, so there is no need to worry too much. However, although Atractylodes lancea can be smelled, it is best not to smell it all the time. Smelling it too much will have some effect on the body. Atractylodes lancea is used to dispel wind and cold, and has many benefits to the human body.

The role and efficacy of Atractylodes

【Effects and indications】

Atractylodes lancea strengthens the spleen, dries up dampness, relieves depression, and eliminates filth. It is used to treat spleen obstruction caused by excessive dampness, fatigue and indolence, abdominal distension, loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, dysentery, malaria, phlegm and fluid, edema, seasonal colds, wind-cold-dampness arthralgia, foot paralysis, and night blindness.

1. Regulating gastrointestinal motility

Its decoction can significantly reduce the tension of isolated small intestine of rabbits and counteract the spasm of gastric smooth muscle and small intestine caused by acetylcholine. It has a mild stimulating effect on the gastric smooth muscle of normal rats. Its main active ingredients are eucalyptol and β-eudesmol. Its decoction was administered intragastrically to rats with spleen deficiency model, which improved diarrhea, body weight and small intestinal hypermotility.

2. Anti-ulcer and gland inhibition

This product has a strong inhibitory effect on pyloric ligation ulcer and stress ulcer; it has a significant inhibitory effect on the gastric juice volume, total acidity and total digestive capacity of animals. Its inhibition of gastric juice secretion is related to its inhibition of the release of somatic hormones and reduction of the stimulation of steroid hormones on gastric acid secretion. Its anti-ulcer effect is also related to its role in enhancing gastric mucosal defense factors. The volatile oil of Atractylodes lancea can also inhibit the secretion of salivary glands and intestinal glands, reducing the secretion of saliva and intestinal fluid.

3. Protecting the liver

Its extract and atractylodes alcohol, β-eudesmol and atractylodes ketone have a significant preventive effect on CCl4 and D-galactosamine-induced rat hepatocyte damage. Its decoction has a significant promoting effect on liver protein synthesis.

(IV) Antibacterial

Atractylodes lancea extract has the effect of eliminating the R plasmid of drug-resistant Shigella flexneri and can reduce the development of bacterial resistance. Soak Atractylodes lancea in 95% ethanol for 10 hours, take it out, put it on the floor of the operating room to be disinfected, and light it until it turns to ash. After disinfection, the number of colonies in the air is significantly reduced than before disinfection. However, early in vitro studies did not find that the decoction of Atractylodes lancea had significant antibacterial effects.

(V) Others

1. Excrete potassium

It has obvious effects of excreting potassium, sodium and chloride. However, its decoction has no diuretic effect on normal rats.

2. Sedation and analgesia

Its volatile oil has a central nervous system sedative effect on frogs in small amounts, a central nervous system inhibitory effect in large amounts, and even larger amounts can cause respiratory paralysis and death. β-Cineole has analgesic effects and can reduce the sensitivity of skeletal muscle acetylcholine receptors.

3. Disinfection

Fumigation disinfection with Atractylodes lancea and Artemisia argyi has a significant sterilization effect on a variety of indoor cells, and its effect is better than that of ultraviolet rays.

4. Effects on blood sugar

Oral administration of Atractylodes lancea decoction or subcutaneous administration of alcohol extract can increase the blood sugar level of normal rabbits, but it has a blood sugar-lowering effect on alloxan-induced diabetic rabbits. Intragastric administration of Atractylodes lancea water extract can reduce the hyperglycemia level in rats induced by streptomycin. Some studies have shown that the active ingredients of Atractylodes lancea and adenine nucleotides have a competitive inhibitory effect on the same mitochondria, thereby inhibiting intracellular oxidative phosphorylation and interfering with the energy transfer process.

5. Anti-hypoxia

In the mouse hypoxia model caused by potassium cyanide, oral administration of 750 mg/kg of Atractylodes lancea acetone extract can significantly prolong the survival time of mice and reduce the relative mortality rate of mice. The main active ingredient of Atractylodes macrocephala against hypoxia is β-eucalyptol.

6. Central nervous system inhibition

Atractylodes lancea, Atractylodes macrocephala, β-eucalyptol and turmeric alcohol have a sedative effect on mice and can inhibit the spontaneous activities of mice. Atractylodes lancea extract and volatile oil, in small doses, cause hyperreflexia of the spinal cord, while in larger doses they have an inhibitory effect, eventually leading to respiratory paralysis and death. The extracts of Atractylodes lancea and Atractylodes macrocephala can enhance the sleeping effect of barbiturates, and their pharmacologically active ingredients are mainly β-eudesmol and atractylodes lancea.

7. Anti-tumor

The volatile oil of Atractylodes lancea, euphorbia turmeric alcohol and β-eudesmol l00mg/ml have an inhibitory effect on esophageal cancer cells in vitro, among which euphorbia turmeric alcohol has a stronger effect.

8. Promote bone calcification

Atractylodes lancea contains vitamin D, which is related to calcium and phosphorus absorption, and its volatile oil has the effect of promoting bone calcification. The volatile oil of Atractylodes macrocephala can improve the symptoms of White Rock chickens suffering from rickets to a certain extent.

9. Effects on the cardiovascular system

Atractylodes has a mild inhibitory effect on the toad's heart and a mild dilating effect on the blood vessels in the toad's hind limbs. A small dose of intravenous injection of Atractylodes lancea extract can slightly increase the blood pressure of rabbits, while a large dose can reduce the blood pressure.
