What are the red spots under my child’s eyes?

The human face is the part most prone to skin diseases. Children's skin is very delicate, and the protective function of the skin's stratum corneum may not be perfect, so it is most prone to skin diseases. If parents find red spots under their children's eyes, they must pay attention to it. At this time, they must closely observe whether there are symptoms of itching, help the baby protect the skin, and find the cause based on the baby's other symptoms.

What's wrong with the red spots under my child's eyes?

If these red colors do not fade, the possibility of bleeding spots should be considered. Generally, there are two possibilities: one is simple subcutaneous bleeding spots, and the other is purpura. The latter can be divided into allergic purpura or thrombocytopenia, etc.

If the bleeding spots only occur around the eyes and not in other parts, it is mostly because the child is young and the capillaries are relatively fragile. When encountering factors that increase the pressure on the internal organs, the blood vessels rupture and bleeding occurs under the skin. The triggering factors include crying, coughing, standing upside down, strenuous activities, etc.

If the bleeding only occurs on the skin around the eyes, you don't need to worry about it. In most cases, it will disappear naturally after a few months. This is not a disease.

Regardless of the type of bleeding spot, strenuous exercise should be avoided as much as possible to prevent capillary rupture and worsening of the condition; especially those suspected of purpura must rest at home, and if necessary, take a leave of absence from school;

In terms of diet, alcohol is prohibited, and hot foods such as peppers and mutton are eaten less. You can eat more foods rich in vitamin C such as kiwi fruit, tomatoes, etc., which have a certain therapeutic effect.

If the bleeding spots occur on many parts of the body besides the face and eyes, then you should consider bleeding diseases such as purpura. In this case, you are advised to go to the dermatology department of a local hospital for a check-up, four coagulation tests, and antibody tests, etc., to confirm the condition and then receive targeted treatment.

If you suspect purpura, you should see a doctor immediately. This disease can be mild or severe. Different types of purpura have different causes and treatments, and the prognosis is also very different. For example, some allergic purpura only causes physical weakness, while some types of purpura may be life-threatening.

If a child has small red spots around his eyes, if there are red spots on both sides, it may be allergic purpura, and there is no need to go to the eye doctor for examination.

Suggestions: Your child can have his platelet count checked to see if it is low. Then check the urine to see if there is protein in the urine. Children can use some vitamin C.
