What should I do if my child always sweats?

Children's physical development is not yet complete, and many of their systems are in the stage of growth and development. At this time, you need to be careful when caring for them, but not over-caring. Many parents are particularly worried that their children will catch a cold and will dress them in a lot of clothes. This often causes the children to sweat a lot, which will be harmful to the body. Children's sweating can be normal physiological sweating or sweating caused by illness. Parents must learn to judge.

Method 1

If a child is overweight, he or she will have thicker fat on his or her body and will sweat more easily than other children after a little exercise. Therefore, while paying attention to nutritional intake, he or she should maintain a normal weight and not be overweight.

Method 2

Children's body temperature is generally slightly higher than that of adults. In fact, children have high body heat and are not as afraid of cold as adults. Therefore, you should add clothes to your child appropriately. Don’t wear too much on a normal day. He or she can wear one less piece of underwear than adults.

Method 3

Children's bodies are in the stage of growth and development, and their sweat glands are well developed, so they are prone to sweating. Parents should pay attention to placing a towel close to their children's backs to absorb sweat. If the towel gets wet, it should be replaced with another dry towel in time to prevent them from catching a cold.

Method 4

Children sweat easily, so don't let them wear tight, non-breathable clothes. For example, tight jeans are inappropriate and can easily cause prickly heat. Children should wear breathable and loose clothes at ordinary times.

Method 5

Some children are very active and lively, and cannot stop for a moment, so they will definitely sweat all the time. Parents should find ways to help their children calm down, such as developing a good habit of reading, so that children will not be too active and sweat constantly.

Method 6

If your child is just sweating because he is overweight, hyperactive, or wearing too many clothes, parents should not worry too much. However, if the child sweats even when sitting, and also has a sallow face, thin body, loss of appetite, etc., you should take the child to the hospital for a comprehensive physical examination and timely treatment.

There are many reasons why children sweat excessively when sleeping, both physiological and pathological.

Physiological hyperhidrosis

It is caused by hot weather, high room temperature, too many clothes or too thick quilt. Some parents like to feed their children a bottle of milk before going to bed. After feeding, the child falls asleep quietly. However, this is the stage of heat production after feeding, so the child often sweats profusely. This type of sweating is caused by the body's regulation of body temperature. Sweating often occurs more when just falling asleep and then gradually decreases. Because children have an active metabolism, high skin water content, more microvessels, and immature autonomic nerves, they sweat a lot, which is completely normal.

Pathological hyperhidrosis

A lot of sweat occurs during the entire sleep process. Children with rickets begin to sweat profusely after falling asleep, especially on the head, which can soak the pillow or pillowcase, and are accompanied by baldness on the pillow and crying. Children with active tuberculosis not only sweat in the first half of the night, but also often sweat in the second half of the night and before dawn, which is called night sweats. At the same time, children may have symptoms such as low fever, cough, weight loss, weakness, and flushed face. Therefore, if a healthy and active child sweats a lot while sleeping, it may be a normal phenomenon and parents do not need to worry too much.
