Which department should children go to for bedwetting?

In life, bedwetting in children is generally pathological and physiological. That is to say, it is normal for children to wet the bed before the age of 3, but it is abnormal after the age of 3. Parents must pay attention to it. However, many parents are not particularly clear about which department to go to in the hospital for their children's bedwetting. In fact, generally speaking, children who wet the bed should be seen by a pediatrician, so that the treatment can be better targeted at the children. Bedwetting in children must be treated as soon as possible.

For a long time, many parents did not think that bedwetting was a disease. They believed that the child was tired from playing, drank too much water, or worked too much. They simply believed that the child was lazy and had not developed good habits. They also blamed and beat the patients because they were exhausted from taking care of the children for a long time.

Bedwetting in children before the age of 3 is mostly a normal physiological phenomenon, which will gradually improve with age. The awakening response to a full bladder is a physiological process that gradually develops and matures with age. Generally speaking, this process begins to develop in children after the age of 2 and is close to completion by at least the age of 5. So in other words, if a child frequently wets the bed after the age of 3, or still wets the bed after the age of 5, it is time to see a doctor because it is very likely enuresis.

Let’s look at the treatments for bedwetting in children.

First, help your child create a daily schedule. This really works. The designated specific items include the child's daily routine, urination time and cycle, and all the dynamics of the child can be mastered to understand the child's situation better.

Set an alarm to help your child develop conditioned reflexes. Children may feel the urge to urinate at night, so as a parent, you can set an alarm in advance to help your child establish a conditioned reflex. When they hear the alarm ring, they will also have a reflex, which will help them remember the time.

Control urine volume. Parents can help their children control their bladder function. The main method of control is to drink plenty of water, and then control the time of urination and the interval in between. This helps improve your child's bladder function.

Of course, the above method is a correction method for children's physiological bedwetting. If the bedwetting is still caused by some disease, the above method is of no use.

You must actively cooperate with the doctor's treatment. For example, clomipramine can expand the bladder capacity and stimulate the cerebral cortex to make the baby wake up easily at night and get up to urinate. If necessary, take it under the guidance of a doctor.

Of course, specific diseases require specific treatments. Therefore, if a child still wets the bed after the age of five, parents need to take the child to the hospital for treatment in time.
