Treatment of baby's pharyngeal congestion

Treatment of baby's pharyngeal congestion

In the new life, everyone pays attention to scientific parenting. Since the baby's immunity is relatively low, at this time, some of the child's physical conditions make many new friends at a loss. I believe that everyone is unable to cope with many of the problems encountered. So in the next article, we are going to introduce what to do if the baby's pharyngeal congestion?

Acute viral infection of the lungs may cause inflammation of the bronchioles. Bronchiolitis is common in infants under one year old. It is a very serious disease and often prevalent in winter.

At first, children will experience symptoms similar to the common cold. After 2 or 3 days, the following symptoms may appear:

1. Dry cough and acute cough.

2. Difficulty breathing and rapid breathing. Some babies may have very long intervals (more than 10 seconds) between breaths.

3. Refuse to eat.

4. Development of lips and tongue.

5. Sleepiness.

If the child is under 1 year old and has symptoms of coughing or wheezing, the child should be taken to the hospital for treatment. If breathing becomes difficult, or the lips or tongue turn blue, or the child becomes drowsy, call an ambulance.

If your child's bronchiolitis symptoms are mild, your doctor may prescribe a bronchodilator and advise parents to care for your child at home. Let your child drink plenty of fluids and try to have him eat small, frequent meals. Patting the child's back by the parent can loosen mucus in the child's lungs. Mild bronchiolitis usually clears up within a week. But children who need to be hospitalized may have to breathe oxygen through a plastic hood and may have to be fed through a nasal cannula or occasionally need intravenous fluids to maintain nutrition. In severe cases, mechanical ventilation may be necessary.

With treatment, bronchiolitis does not cause permanent damage to the lungs. However, in the following years after a child develops bronchiolitis, wheezing may occur if they catch a cold.

In the above article, we learned about the baby's pharyngeal congestion. First of all, this phenomenon will cause tonsillitis, and the child's immunity will be relatively low. For many new parents, they should also pay attention to their children in time.
