Two-year-old child convulsions

Two-year-old child convulsions

In life, we often encounter many physical conditions in babies under three years old. These prominent physical conditions will make people feel panicked and they don’t know how to treat them. If a three-year-old child has convulsions, we need to see if it is caused by fever. It is also possible that it is caused by diseases such as inflammation.

Convulsions in children are mostly caused by high fever, which is the most common cause. In addition, hypocalcemia, hypoglycemia, epilepsy, meningitis, encephalitis and bacterial dysentery can also cause convulsions.

If you find your child having convulsions, you should rush him to the hospital immediately.

Suggestions:

Infant convulsions should pay attention to: actively treat the primary disease according to the cause to prevent it. For example, epileptic patients need to take medicine according to the doctor's instructions. If the medicine is stopped suddenly, even for 1 to 2 days, it will cause epileptic seizures. Children with high fever are prone to seizures, and timely fever reduction can prevent seizures; calcium deficiency can cause seizures, so children should supplement calcium (eat more calcium-containing foods, take calcium gluconate, calcium tablets, etc. when necessary), and at the same time, they should get more sun exposure and take cod liver oil, etc.

Once a sudden systemic convulsion occurs, you should calm down and stop the convulsion, and see a doctor immediately. Generally, cramps will not immediately endanger life, so there is no need to panic. Before the doctor arrives, the following emergency measures should be taken:

1. Immediately lay the child flat on the bed, with the head tilted to one side and slightly tilted back, the neck slightly raised, and the patient's collar, belt, waist belt, etc. loosened, taking care not to let the patient fall to the ground.

2. Quickly clear the secretions and vomitus from the mouth, nose, throat and throat to ensure the smoothness of the respiratory tract. To prevent the teeth from biting the tongue, a tongue depressor or chopsticks wrapped with gauze or cloth should be placed between the upper and lower teeth. Press the Ren Zhong acupoint and Hegu acupoint with your fingers. The above requirements must be completed quickly.

3. Prevent the patient from colliding with surrounding hard objects and getting injured during severe convulsions, but never use force to press down the convulsing limbs to avoid fractures.
