In modern society, electronic products such as mobile phones and PDAs have almost become necessities of life. Although it is not realistic to completely isolate children from mobile phones and PDAs, it is necessary to prevent young children (under 6 years old) from coming into contact with such products and to strictly control their contact time (no more than 1 hour a day).

Mobile phones and other electronic products can cause harm to the eyes in many ways. The most common symptom is dry eye. When using mobile phones, especially when playing games, people will involuntarily reduce the number of times they blink because they need to concentrate on the screen. Over time, this will lead to abnormalities in the tear film and dry eye symptoms. Another significant problem is the induction of myopia. This is especially important for children and adolescents whose bodies are still developing.

In addition, there is an "invisible killer" in the bright display screens of electronic products - high-energy blue light. It can damage the retina, and long-term exposure to blue light can even induce blinding eye diseases such as macular degeneration, for which there is currently no particularly effective treatment.

Parents should encourage their children to participate in more outdoor sports. Scientific research shows that outdoor activities have a clear role in preventing myopia. In addition, lutein and zeaxanthin have the effect of resisting blue light, so consuming more foods such as blueberries, broccoli, spinach, wolfberries, corn, egg yolks, etc. will be very helpful to the health of your eyes.
