What to do about hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy in children

We often hear that some children are born with diseases, especially hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy in children. What should we do? Parents have really searched all the hospitals and used a lot of medicines for such children. Adults would rather get sick themselves than let their children suffer like this. So, how to care for children with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy? I have summarized a few points below. Parents in need can take a look.

1 Suitable environment: The ward is clean, tidy, sunny and has fresh air. Maintaining a neutral temperature (also known as moderate temperature) in the environment is an important condition for maintaining body temperature. Neutral temperature refers to the temperature at which the newborn can maintain normal body temperature with minimal energy expenditure. The room temperature for newborns is 22-24℃; the humidity is 55%-65%.

2 Keep the airway open: After a newborn is born, oral and nasal secretions should be cleared quickly to prevent aspiration pneumonia. Check and clean the nostrils frequently, keep the airway clear, keep the newborn in a comfortable position, avoid placing objects near the newborn's mouth or nose or pressing on the chest, and never cover the newborn's head and face with a quilt.

3 Maintaining a stable body temperature The body temperature of a newborn is easily affected by the environment, so appropriate warming measures need to be taken, such as wearing a hat, holding the baby in the mother's arms, using a hot water bottle, or using an incubator, so that the newborn's body is in a suitable environment with low oxygen consumption, low evaporation heat, and lowest metabolism. Measure body temperature once every 4 hours. When using a hot water bottle to keep warm, avoid direct contact with the child's body to prevent burns.

The above are a few points I have summarized on how to care for children with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. I think after reading this, parents in need will have a general understanding of how to care for their children. Then they can make adjustments based on their actual situation and take good care of their children. I hope that the babies can recover as soon as possible.
