Why can't the child urinate?

For many new parents, toilet training their children is a very serious problem. They can never find a suitable method for their children to learn, so their children are always unable to make progress in toilet training. Some children may not be able to urinate when they just start using the toilet. This situation is common because they are not used to it. Parents can recover as long as they give proper training and guidance.

Baby's favorite toys

First, use Excel to make a timetable for the baby's urination and defecation. Moms who don't know how to make spreadsheets can find a small notebook to record the baby's urination and defecation times of the day, and record the time of each defecation. If the baby wears diapers, you should reach into the diaper from time to time to touch it. If it is wet and hot, it must have been just excreted not long ago. Urine will dry up in the diaper after 5 minutes.

For babies who have been wearing diapers since birth, it will be very uncomfortable for them to sit on the toilet for the first time, so you need to spend about a week to teach your baby to squat or call mom and point to his or her butt when he or she wants to pee or poop (some babies can already use words like "pee", "poop", "pee", etc.). Generally, babies of one and a half weeks old are very easy to teach. Basically, they can understand the not-so-complicated words that their mothers usually say. Mothers need to be patient and say it more and teach it more times, and the baby will learn it soon.

At the beginning, babies will squat while peeing, or they will squat subconsciously and stand up quickly after peeing. Some babies will call their mothers only after they pee. At this time, if the baby wets his pants, the mother must suppress her anger and not scold the baby, let alone hit the baby. The more you hit the baby, the less he will learn. Beating the baby will not only be counterproductive but also leave a psychological trauma on the baby. Next time the baby wants to pee or poop, he will secretly hide in a corner where you can't see him, and will not tell you again, because he is afraid of being beaten, let alone let the baby call you before peeing.

When the baby urinates, as long as she squats down, you should encourage her in time, no matter whether she wets her pants or not, at least the baby knows to squat down, which is also a small progress. Next, you can train the baby to sit on the small potty to urinate and defecate according to the schedule, according to the previous records of the baby's urination and defecation time (combined with weather changes and drinking milk and water: on rainy days and when drinking a lot of milk and water, the baby will urinate more within 2 hours, and the time interval between two urinations will be smaller, at least 10 to 15 minutes each time), take off the baby's pants or diaper and sit on the small potty about 5 to 10 minutes in advance. Pay attention to guiding the baby (making "hush" or "hmm") and amusing the baby at the same time. At the beginning, the baby will be very nervous and unable to defecate, so you must wait patiently. If you really can't defecate, get up and sit again after a while. Don't force the baby.

I persisted in the training for more than half a month, and then my baby pooped on the toilet for the first time. I was so excited at that time that I couldn’t help but be a little perverted and took a picture as a souvenir (as shown below), because before that she had always pooped in diapers and stood up every time. Now my baby is 21 months old. Every morning after waking up, she will get out of bed and walk to the toilet to lift the toilet lid to indicate that she wants to pee. At that time, I will immediately jump out of bed to untie her diaper and let her sit on it. She will pee as soon as she sits on it. Just in case, I still use diapers or pull-up pants to sleep at night.

Precautions

Observe your baby's facial expressions and behaviors before peeing or defecating

If your baby wets his pants, you must not hit him violently. Teach him patiently that he should call his mother in time when he needs to pee or urinate next time.
