Is herpes in children's throat contagious?

Is herpes in children's throat contagious?

When children develop oral herpes, it is particularly worrying for many parents. Herpes is a viral infectious skin disease that lurks in the body and causes clusters of herpes to appear in the skin area. This herpes is toxic and needs to be protected to avoid infection. In particular, special attention should be paid to avoid being in stuffy and poorly ventilated areas. As parents, you should adjust your baby's diet, mainly light food, give your baby some anti-inflammatory drugs, and pay attention to increasing resistance and immunity, so as to better help recovery.

Note: Herpes requires active antiviral treatment and body temperature should be measured at the same time. In addition, you can also use medication or injections for antiviral treatment, drink more water, and avoid eating foods that are easy to cause inflammation. At the same time, you should also pay attention to increasing resistance, which will be beneficial to the child's recovery.

There are two reasons why children may develop herpes:

1. Due to the hot weather, the indoor air circulation is poor, causing bacteria in the air to enter the children's respiratory tract.

2. Because people use air conditioners in large quantities and set the temperature too low, children cannot bear it, which causes heat colds and viral infections.

How to deal with herpes in your child's throat

1. Anti-inflammatory drugs. Generally, throat herpes is caused by inflammation and viral infection. When you go for tests, the blood count is high, so you must take some anti-inflammatory drugs. We gave you amoxicillin powder.

2. Antiviral drugs: Throat herpes is a viral infection and requires antiviral drugs. The drug we gave was ribavirin.

3. Rock sugar and pear juice. If your child has a sore throat, cough and phlegm, you can give him some pear juice with some rock sugar.

4. It is best to feed children light food. Otherwise, children’s greed may easily lead to vomiting. They should not eat irritating food.

How to prevent herpes in your child's throat

1. Avoid going to crowded places. If oral herpes is caused by a virus, it is highly contagious, so try to avoid crowded public places recently. Mothers can ask their children if there are any children in school or kindergarten who have high fever or sore throat.

2. Pay attention to personal oral hygiene and keep your mouth clean, brush your teeth and wash your hands frequently, and disinfect tableware with hot water. Adults should not use children’s quilts, bowls and spoons.

3. Encourage sick children to drink more cold water. Cold water has an analgesic effect and can gradually clean the wound surface, preventing infection and allowing the wound to heal faster.

4. Eat a light diet. Herpes in the throat will cause obvious oral pain, and most children will refuse to eat. Eat more light liquid foods, such as porridge. If it's a little better, you can cook the noodles a little softer.

5. Appropriate physical cooling. Children with oral herpes may have symptoms such as fever, and may need physical cooling including warm water baths, ice compresses, etc. No matter what cooling method you use, you should also place a hot water bottle on the soles of your feet to reduce congestion in the brain tissue and promote heat dissipation.

6. When the condition is serious and eating is difficult, you can go to the hospital to take intravenous nutritional mixture and gargle with normal saline or 3% hydrogen peroxide. Chinese medicine treatment has a certain effect on this disease, and the medication should be selected according to the doctor's instructions.
