How to stimulate children’s appetite?

Nowadays, most families have only one child, and it is common for the child to be spoiled. Some children do not eat well. Whenever this happens, it always gives parents a headache. Although various means have been used, the results are not very good. If children do not eat well, it is easy to cause malnutrition and affect development. So how can children stimulate their appetite?

In fact, it is not difficult to let children eat happily and healthily, as long as you learn some "tricks" -

1. Even if your child turns up his nose at all green vegetables, don't worry too much. In fact, vitamins A and C, the main nutrients found in spinach and tomatoes, are also found in potatoes, mangoes and melons. Most children love these foods and fruits and eat them with relish.

2. Replace the white rice you often eat at home with "mixed rice" made of black rice, white rice and millet. Black rice contains three times more crude fiber than white rice. Only 1/4 cup of black rice contains about 1 gram of fiber. To calculate your baby's daily fiber needs, add 5 to her age. For example, a 2-year-old child's fiber requirement is 7 grams. In addition, because the staple food is rich in color, it can attract children's attention and stimulate their appetite.

3. Most children will not refuse vegetables that are more "flavorful" with added seasonings, so you can add some ketchup to the salad core to supplement the extra nutrition your child needs. Children don’t like stir-fried vegetables, so it’s best to cook them with salt or sweet and sour sauce.

4. Let your children drink dairy products with a variety of flavors. Many parents believe that milk with added chocolate, strawberry or vanilla flavors is just a beverage, not "real" milk. However, investigators recently discovered that children who drink unflavored milk can get more calcium than their peers - during the bone development process of adolescents, the body needs 1,300 mg of calcium per day. The reason these flavored milks did not increase sugar intake is that the children who drank these milk products reduced the frequency of drinking high-sugar soft drinks and carbonated drinks.

5. Is vegetable soup unpopular in your home? So, try making a delicious, healthy, refreshing and tasty fruit soup. Choose 3 fruits of different colors (the more colors, the richer the nutrition), cut the fruits into small pieces, boil them until soft, filter them, and refrigerate the fruit soup. Fruits and vegetables contain many of the same nutrients, such as vitamins A and C, and the sweetness of fruit soup is more attractive to children.

6. Encourage children to drink more tomato soup because it is rich in B-carotene, which, as an antioxidant, can also help children resist major diseases. You can put some cartoon-shaped macaroni in the tomato soup to change the way it is presented to attract children's interest.

7. Many children don’t like vegetables that smell “strange”, have rough textures on the surface, or look dark green. Here's a clever workaround: Sneak veggies into your child's pizza or hamburger buns by chopping onions and spinach into chewable pieces and sprinkling them on the crust before adding ketchup and cheese. Children won't taste any difference, let alone reject or complain about it.

If you want your children to eat well, you must pay attention to letting them eat less snacks at normal times, and it is best not to eat snacks, especially before meals, and no sweets are allowed. In addition, it is also important to cook food for children in different ways. Children also need to develop some interests in diet, and children like to eat foods that they are interested in.
