Why do children's nails turn white?

Many adults always ignore the changes in children's nails, thinking that there will not be any big problems. In fact, by observing the nails, we can also see the health status of the child's body. If your child's nails are originally white, there is no need to worry. When there is calcium deficiency or anemia, the nails will send out warnings and gradually turn white. This cannot be ignored. You can change the child's eating habits and recover through diet therapy. If there is no obvious improvement for a period of time, you should see a doctor in time. Of course there are other cases:

① From a clinical point of view, there may be three reasons for white spots or white spots on the nails. One is that if you often have stomach pain symptoms, it may be roundworms. The second is poor digestive function. The third is the lack of certain trace elements in the body. Therefore, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for examination and then receive symptomatic treatment. Too many white spots on the nails are a sign of neurasthenia, yellow spots are a sign of digestive system diseases, and small grains on the nails are a sign of drug poisoning or parasites in the body.

② White spots or mica-like spots on the nails indicate a lack of trace elements such as calcium and silicon, and the presence of parasites. Such people are prone to nervousness, irritability, and habitual constipation. White spots or floc-like white spots on the nails may be caused by zinc deficiency, gastrointestinal disease, or anemia. This condition occurs in some children with calcium and zinc deficiency. It is recommended that you take your child to the hospital for trace element testing to determine the cause of the disease and receive appropriate treatment.

③It is recommended to take the child to the hospital for a check-up to see if he or she has anemia. If so, it is recommended to give the child some red dates, donkey-hide gelatin, etc., or drink some blood-enriching granules. If the condition is not serious, you can replenish blood through diet. You can eat more foods high in iron, such as lean meat, pork liver, egg yolks, chicken liver, seaweed, mushrooms, fungus and soy products.

④In general, these symptoms are caused by vitamin deficiency. It is recommended to take more vitamin supplements on a regular basis. Eat more fruits and vegetables and observe more.

⑤ Normal nails should slightly reveal the redness of the capillaries underneath and have a clear color. The nails themselves should be colorless or light beige and transparent. If the nails turn white, emergencies are often caused by blood loss or shock; chronic diseases are often caused by anemia, parasitic diseases, internal bleeding, and cor pulmonale. If it is white like frosted glass, it is a characteristic of cirrhosis of the liver. Whitening and thinning of nails are often seen in chronic wasting diseases. If the nails turn yellow, it is a lack of vitamin E, which is seen in hypothyroidism, nephrotic syndrome, etc. If your nails turn gray, you may be suffering from onychomycosis. Purple nails with small red thorns are caused by lack of oxygen, indicating heart and lung disease or gas poisoning. If your nails are half red and half white, it means your kidney function is poor. White spots or floc-like white spots on the nails may indicate zinc deficiency, gastrointestinal disease, or anemia. Black spots or blue spots are signs of poisoning. If the lunula is blue, it indicates poor peripheral circulation, while if it is obviously red, it is a sign of heart failure. Those with obvious lunula have good intestinal absorption, while those with no lunula or narrow lunula have poor digestive ability.
