Baby keeps sticking out tongue

When the weather is hot in the summer and there are no fans or air conditioners, people like to stick out their tongues to blow away the wind and drive away the heat from their heads. However, some babies will always stick out their tongues when they are young. This is mostly because the baby is playful or thirsty, but it does not rule out that the baby is sick. Therefore, if the baby sticks out his tongue for more than one or two months, you should take the baby to the hospital for a check-up to avoid drug-induced illness.

Consider physiological and pathological reasons. As long as the baby's intelligence is normal, or as long as he or she has undergone neonatal disease screening, you can rest assured. Physiological reasons include the baby's playing or habitual movements. This does not require special treatment. In daily life, you can let your baby drink more water. I wish your baby a healthy growth

When a baby likes to stick out his tongue, it should be analyzed in three situations.

1. The most common thing is that some healthy and happy babies will stick out their tongues with a smile when they are happy. When children see delicious food, they will also stick out their tongues to lick their lips. These are all normal phenomena. This tongue sticking out will not last long and will soon return to normal. If the baby is developing well, physical condition. If the intelligence is not backward, then the child is not pathological and he will no longer stick out his tongue as he grows up.

2. If your child often opens his mouth, sticks out his tongue, drools, and has an enlarged tongue, and the symptoms do not improve with age, you should pay attention and ask your child's pediatrician to give him a comprehensive health check.

3. There are pediatric diseases where sticking out the tongue is a symptom. For example, "cretinism" among endocrine system diseases is diagnosed when a child develops a special facial feature 2 to 3 months after birth, with a big head, flat nose, wide nose wings, big tongue, short and thick neck, enlarged thyroid gland, tongue often sticking out of the mouth, and being abnormally quiet. As children grow older, they will experience growth retardation and their skin will become rough and dry. Thinning hair, low muscle tone, enlarged abdomen, etc.
