Children's immunity is very low, so many of them are prone to illness. Conjunctivitis is a common clinical disease. Children may also be infected with conjunctivitis. There are many reasons for conjunctivitis in children. In addition to infection, it may also be caused by low immunity. Conjunctivitis is prone to recurring, so how long will it take for a child to recover from conjunctivitis? 1. Recovery time It takes about 1 to 2 weeks for conjunctivitis symptoms to disappear after treatment. The length of time varies from person to person. Correct treatment is the most critical. A good treatment method can not only help patients recover sooner, but also reduce their pain. 2. Eye drops treatment 0.25% chloramphenicol or other anti-inflammatory eye drops can be applied to the eyes once every 2 hours, and anti-inflammatory eye ointment can be applied before going to bed. Some people ask doctors to give them anti-inflammatory injections to treat conjunctivitis. In fact, this is not necessary. Anti-inflammatory injections have little effect on conjunctivitis. If the red eyes of infants and young children are severe and it is difficult to use eye drops, oral sulfonamide emulsions can be used. 3. Flushing treatment When the secretions increase, rinse the eyes 3 to 4 times a day with saline or warm water to clean the secretions in the eyes. It should be noted that when suffering from conjunctivitis, you should avoid covering your eyes, because after covering your eyes, the temperature in the eyes will increase, which is conducive to the growth and reproduction of bacteria, and the secretions will not be easily discharged, but will aggravate the inflammation. 4. Note In addition to the symptoms of acute bacterial conjunctivitis, children may have high fever and sore throat. Some children may have fine punctate opacities on the cornea, and the preauricular lymph nodes are often swollen and tender. There are also very rare cases of concurrent lower limb paralysis. But it generally does not affect vision. If a large amount of mucopurulent secretions adhere to the surface of the cornea, there may be temporary blurred vision or iridescence (rainbow-like halo in front of the eyes). Once the secretions are wiped off, vision will become clear again. If bacterial or viral infection affects the cornea, photophobia, tearing, and pain will worsen, and vision will also decrease to a certain extent. |
