Child's foot injured by bicycle

Child's foot injured by bicycle

Bicycles are people's favorite and most energy-efficient means of transportation in their daily lives. Especially for young parents, installing a rear seat on a bicycle makes it convenient and quick to take their children out or send them to kindergarten. However, if you do not pay attention to the child's feet when riding a bicycle with your child, the child's feet may be injured. The baby's little feet may be entangled in the bicycle wheels, which happens frequently.

When children sit in the back seat, their active nature makes them always want to move their legs and feet. Sometimes they will put their feet in the wheels out of curiosity. Therefore, their feet are likely to be injured by the rotating wheels, which may cause subcutaneous hematoma, edema, and epidermal abrasions at the mildest level; at the worst level, it may damage the ligaments of the feet.

In order to prevent children from being strangled, the rear seat of the bicycle must have a small footrest to prevent the child's feet from hanging and getting strangled accidentally. At the same time, a plastic or iron baffle should be placed between the rear seat and the wheels to prevent children's feet from reaching into the wheels. Also, teach your children that it is dangerous to put their feet inside the wheel.

If strangulation occurs, it should be treated separately. If the epidermis is damaged, you can apply mercurochrome and then apply sterile gauze. If there is a purple hematoma but the skin is not damaged, you should immediately apply cold water to the local cold compress to shrink the local capillaries. At this time, do not use hot water for hot compresses or apply blood-activating medicine to rub your feet, because doing so will only aggravate the bleeding.

First, rinse and disinfect with hydrogen peroxide and iodine. Severe skin tears may require sutures. If it is deep, drainage should be performed. If the skin is shallow and close to the bones, you should pay attention to preventing and treating skin necrosis. Then give an injection of tetanus antitoxin. Treat with antibiotics, either by mouth or by infusion. In severe cases, hemostatic drugs may be used. Then change the dressing regularly.

1. Apply hot compress with a hot towel at night.

2. If conditions permit, it is best to use the magic lamp therapy device or microwave therapy device for auxiliary treatment.

3. Apply Voltaren ointment externally.

4. If you injure a bone, it is best to get an X-ray to rule out a fracture.

5. Try to elevate the affected limb when sleeping at night.

6. Try to move your joints as little as possible within a week.
