First take the child to the hospital for treatment. With the cooperation of the doctor, try to repeatedly pull the foreskin up to expand the foreskin opening, expose the glans penis, and remove the smegma. If the child is over 5 years old and phimosis affects normal physiological functions, circumcision is required. Circumcision is suitable for: acquired phimosis with a fibrous narrow ring at the foreskin opening; recurrent balanoposthitis; severe stenosis of the foreskin opening after 5-6 years old, inability of the foreskin to retract and expose the glans penis, and those who are not satisfied with conservative treatment. The first two are absolute indications for surgery.

In addition to circumcision, endotracheal dilation can also be used for treatment, which can save the vast majority of children with phimosis from the pain of surgical treatment. Treatment method: Before the dilation operation, anesthetic is dripped into the outer opening of the foreskin. After 2-3 minutes, a disposable balloon catheter is used to separate the adhesion between the foreskin and the glans penis. Then the foreskin is turned up, the smegma is removed, a small amount of ointment is applied, and finally the foreskin is restored to its original position to cover the glans penis. The whole operation only takes a dozen minutes. There is only a slight feeling of distension when the balloon is inflated and slight discomfort when separating adhesions. A check-up and medication application will be done once two days after the operation. After that, as long as the local area is kept clean and regular cleaning is done, re-adhesion can be prevented. Balloon catheter dilatation is a non-invasive treatment that does not cause bleeding and is minimally painful. Children generally cooperate and accept it.

When parents discover that their child has phimosis, they must pay attention to keeping the child's penis clean. Clean your child's genitals regularly to remove any smegma. If phimosis causes inflammation of the child's foreskin, such as redness and swelling, parents can first give the child a hot compress or apply anti-inflammatory drugs. If the inflammation subsides and urination is normal, surgery can be avoided. If the inflammation symptoms do not improve, appropriate surgical treatment may be necessary.
