What are the characteristics of children in kindergarten?

Generally speaking, children will go to kindergarten when they are 3 years old. When children first enter kindergarten, they study in small classes and then gradually move up to higher grades. When in such different classes, children's inner selves will also undergo some changes. If parents pay more attention, they will find that children at each stage have different characteristics, and children in kindergarten small classes also have their own characteristics.

The main age characteristics of children in the small class: Children in the small class (3-4 years old) have just entered the early childhood stage from infancy. On the one hand, they inevitably have some "traces" of babies; on the other hand, due to their rapid physical and mental development, they begin to have the distinctive characteristics of early childhood. Therefore, the age characteristics of young children in small classes are very prominent.

1. Rapid development of movement

Young children in the lower grades are in a period of rapid physical development, and motor development is an important sign of this. Their body and hand movements are already relatively free, and they can master various gross movements and some fine movements. Due to the need for motor development, children in the lower grades are particularly active. Due to the development of skeletal muscles and the continuous enhancement of the brain's regulatory control ability, children's neck movements are very fast during this year in the small class. Three-year-old children already show obvious individual differences in motor development. We found that these differences were related to their innate physical fitness, gender, personality and early upbringing environment.

2. Knowledge through Action

The development of children's movements is of great value not only to their physical development but also to their thinking development. Three-year-old children, who have just passed the infancy stage, are in the transition stage from intuitive action to concrete image thinking, and their cognition depends to a large extent on action. At the same time, the oral expression and interpersonal communication skills of 3-year-old children are still relatively poor compared with those of middle and senior classes, and they often express their needs through their actions.

3. Emotions play a big role

Emotions have a great influence on 3-year-old children. They get easily excited and when excited they find it difficult to control themselves. They show a strong attachment to adults and will be extremely uneasy when they are away from their parents for the first time. Young children in the lower grades are not only attached to adults, but interactions with their peers also have a great impact on their emotions. Their cognition is mainly dominated by external things and their own emotions, and many of their activities are also "emotional".

4. Love to imitate

Love of imitation is a prominent age characteristic of three-year-old children. They like to imitate their teachers, parents and friends. Young children in the lower grades are learning and growing through imitation. Imitation can be their motivation for learning and also a process for them to learn from others' experiences. Young children’s imitation is not just passive copying. They are also creative in their imitation and express their own personality and emotions.
