What is the correct way to massage a child's spine?

Parents always pay great attention to their children's growth and development stage, fearing that their children will have problems, or suffer from developmental problems, or not grow tall, so they will look for some health-preserving methods for their children. So far, Chinese medicine has the best health-preserving effect and the least side effects. For example, pinching the spine, if you pinch it every day, the child's physical fitness will become much better than before.

How to operate

There are two specific ways to pinch the spine: one is to use the pads of the thumb, index finger and middle finger to pinch the skin, with the thumb at the back and the index finger and middle finger in the front. Then twist the index and middle fingers backwards, push the thumb forward, pinching and moving it towards the occipital region. Another method is to make a fist, with the tip of your thumb aligned with the radial side of your bent index finger, holding the skin with the thumb in front and index finger behind. Then twist the thumb backwards and push the index finger forward, pinching and moving towards the occipital region. The above two methods can be selected according to the operator's habits and convenience.

With both hands, continuously pinch and lift the skin along both sides of the spine from bottom to top, pushing forward while pinching, starting from the coccyx and continuing to the occipital area (usually pinch to the Dazhui point, and can also extend to the Fengfu point). Repeat 3 to 5 times, then massage the Shenshu point 2 to 3 times. Generally, the spine is massaged once a day or every other day, and a course of treatment is 6 times. For chronic diseases, patients can rest for one week after one course of treatment before starting a second course of treatment.

1. The area for pinching the spine is the midline of the spine, from the coccyx to the seventh cervical vertebra. That is, along the course of the Du meridian, from Changqiang point to Dazhui point. If the symptoms on the head and face are obvious (red eyes, itchy photophobia, red nose, loose teeth, ulcerated gums, sallow and thin face, red lips, thirst, red face, irritability, palpitations and clenching teeth, etc.), you can pinch the Fengfu point. After kneading, press the Shenshu point.

2. During the operation, the patient's body position should be in prone or semi-prone position, making sure to lie flat and straight, with the back flat and relaxed.

3. During the spine pinching process, lift the skin with force, which is called "lifting method". Lifting up once every three pinches is called the "pinch three, lift once method"; lifting up once every five pinches is called the "pinch five, lift once method"; you can also just pinch without lifting. Among them, the stimulation of single pinching without lifting is lighter, while the stimulation of "three pinches and one lift" is the strongest.

4. When performing the treatment, according to the syndrome differentiation of internal organs, forcefully pinch and lift the corresponding back-Shu points to enhance the targeted therapeutic effect. For example, anorexia can be treated by the large intestine point, stomach point, and spleen point; vomiting can be treated by the stomach point, liver point, and diaphragm point; diarrhea can be treated by the large intestine point, spleen point, and triple burner point; constipation can be treated by the large intestine point, stomach point, and liver point; excessive sweating can be treated by the kidney point, illuminating point, and lung point; frequent urination can be treated by the bladder point, kidney point, and lung point; irritability can be treated by the liver point, Jueyin point, and heart point; night crying can be treated by the stomach point, liver point, and Jueyin point; insomnia can be treated by the kidney point, spleen point, and liver point; respiratory system diseases can be treated by the kidney point, lung point, and Fengmen point, etc.
