What to do if a two-month-old baby has diarrhea

Babies are a group we often care about. In this case, we should check them carefully and go to the hospital for examination. Because the baby has just come out of the mother's body and is not familiar with the surrounding environment, it is necessary to treat them well. This is very good. It is very important to pay more attention to the physical health of children and pay attention to their healthy life.

The causes of infant diarrhea can be divided into three categories: intestinal infection, extraintestinal infection and non-infectious diarrhea. Intestinal infections mainly occur in newborns who are bottle-fed or mixed-fed, because the disease enters the body through the mouth due to unclean feeding utensils. The most serious is neonatal epidemic diarrhea, which often occurs in the neonatal ward of the hospital. The bacteria are transmitted to the newborn through the mother's birth canal, and then spread by the hands of medical staff. The disease has a short incubation period and severe symptoms, which include loss of appetite, vomiting, and abdominal distension at the beginning, followed by diarrhea with yellow-green watery stools, clapping sounds, and a fishy odor. The number of bowel movements may reach about 10 times a day, and dehydration symptoms will soon appear. Others such as Salmonella typhimurium, rotavirus, adenovirus, etc. can cause diarrhea in neonates, which is often life-threatening in severe cases.

Extraintestinal infections are mainly caused by the influence of pathogen toxins or the underdeveloped nervous system, which leads to digestive system dysfunction and increased intestinal motility, causing diarrhea. This type of diarrhea is usually free of sticky, frozen, pus-blood, and foul odor and occurs less frequently. When newborns suffer from pneumonia and sepsis, bacteria can sometimes penetrate the intestinal wall from outside the intestine or in the blood and penetrate into the intestine, causing enteritis.

Non-infectious diarrhea is mostly caused by malabsorption due to improper feeding, increased bowel movement frequency, undigested milk lumps or egg drop soup-like stools. There is usually no mucus or strange odor. This type of diarrhea can heal itself by eliminating the cause. The first two types of diarrhea should be treated in hospital. Before going to the hospital, you can drink small amounts of boiled sugar and salt water multiple times to prevent dehydration.

Because the baby is still young, the digestive system is relatively weak but very important, which directly affects the baby's absorption of nutrients and healthy growth. 1. First of all, if the mother has enough milk, it is recommended to exclusively breastfeed. 2. Breastfeeding mothers must pay attention to a balanced diet with a reasonable and comprehensive nutritional combination, and it should be light. Mothers should not eat greasy food or soup. 3. Pay attention to the baby's stool color, whether there is mucus, pus or blood, body temperature, the baby's mental state, appetite, and whether the baby is crying and restless. If your baby has frequent bowel movements, and there is mucus, pus, and blood, and his spirits and appetite are poor, and his urine output is reduced, take your baby to the hospital as soon as possible. Use a clean disposable paper cup to collect your baby's stool and send it to the hospital for testing in time to find out the cause. Listen to the doctor's opinions and suggestions, and take medicine under the doctor's guidance. But you don’t have to worry too much. Babies often encounter similar problems as they grow up. They will recover soon with proper medication. I wish your baby health and happiness!

The above is about the problem of diarrhea in two-month-old babies. I hope it will be helpful to everyone. In our daily life, what we need to do is to check and treat in time, which is very good. In our life, we should pay more attention to our own health. Our body will also affect the baby's health. We should take good care of our own health.
