What causes spinal pain in children?

Many children often experience spinal pain when they are young. In fact, this is abnormal and has a lot to do with the child's sitting posture. Therefore, during the learning process, parents and teachers must urge the children to maintain the correct sitting posture. This is not only good for the child's spinal development, but also for the child's vision development. So why do children often have spinal pain?

The main cause of spinal pain in children is bad habits and incorrect posture. For example, if a child bends over for a long period of time. Sitting on the toilet for a long time reading. Long-term constipation can also cause discomfort or pain in the lower back. Many children like to sit or half-lying on the bed or on the armrest of the sofa to read or watch TV. There are also many parents who let their children practice yoga and do other exercises that adults do with them.

To prevent spinal pain, it is recommended that children sleep on a hard bed as much as possible. Because the human spine is curved when viewed from the side, which is medically called the "physiological curvature", if a growing child lies flat on a bed that is too soft for a long time, the weight of the body will cause the "physiological curvature" of the spine to change or disappear, causing discomfort or pain. At the same time, if children wear shoes that are too big, their lower limbs will walk uncoordinatedly. If this continues for a long time, it will increase the workload of the spine and cause pain. Wearing shoes with hard or thick soles will prevent the soles of your feet from feeling the ground better and increase the weight-bearing capacity of the spine. In addition, excessive coldness of children's feet can also cause and aggravate pain in the lower limbs and lumbar spine.

Diet is a necessary and important condition for children's health and growth. On the basis of ensuring nutrition, children can be given more grains, fresh fruits and vegetables in moderation. Some common nuts, such as hazelnuts, walnuts, etc., are beneficial to children's brain, nervous system, bones and muscles. When relaxing, do not let your children half-lean or half-lie on the armrests of the sofa or the back of the bed to read or watch TV. This can cause neck and shoulder pain. Do not let your child lean his upper limbs forward or bend his waist forward for too long, and try to reduce the forward curvature of the spine as much as possible. When exercising, encourage your children to do ball throwing exercises, which can improve the coordination of the whole body, especially the flexibility of the spine. When children have spinal pain, they can be asked to lie prone and relax their whole body. Then use the palms of your hands to gently rub their backs from top to bottom until the skin is slightly warm, focusing on the spine and painful areas. Don't use too much pressure, just enough for the person to receive and feel comfortable. Do it every night or half an hour before going to bed every other day, each time for about 20 minutes. When your child tells you that he or she is dizzy, has a headache, or has discomfort or pain in the shoulders or waist, you should take him or her to the hospital for examination and treatment.
