Baby's forehead is hot and body temperature is normal

Babies will have some diseases more or less during their growth, but the baby's health concerns every parent. When the baby feels uncomfortable, mothers will take the baby to see a doctor immediately, especially when the baby has a fever. Many mothers will give the baby some antipyretic drugs, but it is not correct to blindly give the baby antipyretic drugs. So what is the matter with the baby's forehead being hot and the body being normal?

What temperature is considered a fever in children? A normal body temperature for children is between 36.2℃ and 38℃. General definition: Fever is defined as rectal temperature above 37.8℃, oral temperature above 37.3℃, and axillary temperature above 36.8℃. Nowadays, ear thermometers are used more frequently. The temperature measured by ear thermometers is similar to rectal temperature, both of which are called "core temperature". When your baby's temperature reaches the above fever temperature, use the following gentle (physical) fever-reducing methods to make your baby feel more comfortable:

1. Cold compress method: This method is simple and easy. Apply a cold towel to the forehead. After the towel becomes hot, soak it in cold water and apply it again. Using a cold water bag or ice pack is more effective than applying a cold towel to the forehead.

2. Wipe the whole body with warm water or take a bath: Undress the baby, rub the whole body with a towel in warm water (about 37℃) or take a bath. This can dilate the blood vessels in the baby's skin and dissipate body qi; in addition, when water vapor evaporates from the body surface, it will also absorb body heat. Take a bath for about 10 to 15 minutes each time, about once every 4 to 6 hours.

3. Wipe with a cool towel: Use a slightly cool towel (about 25 degrees) to wipe your forehead and face.

4. Drink more water: It helps sweating. In addition, water has the function of regulating temperature, which can lower body temperature and replenish water lost in the body. There are many types of antipyretic drugs, and they are generally taken only when the body temperature reaches above 38.5℃, and there must be a 4 to 6 hour interval between each dose. Antipyretics include liquids, tablets, suppositories and injections
