What to do if a child's front teeth are broken

Young children are naughty and like to play in their daily lives. If they accidentally fall, their front teeth may be broken. At this time, parents should not be nervous or panic. They should take necessary measures in time, such as finding the broken teeth immediately and going to a regular dental clinic for examination and treatment. Even if the child has not yet changed his teeth, the broken teeth should be preserved at this time. In other words, even if the deciduous teeth are broken, they should be taken to the hospital for treatment in time, because the quality of the deciduous teeth directly affects the quality of the future permanent teeth. Parents must pay attention to this aspect.

1. Keep the broken tooth

Simply rinse it and place it in a moist environment in time, such as milk, saline, etc. You can also hold it in your mouth. Never wrap it with a tissue to prevent the broken tooth from being damaged by dryness. See a doctor as soon as possible. The success rate of treatment is high within 30 minutes after the broken tooth.

2. Baby teeth also need timely medical treatment

Some parents think that their children will have new teeth in the future anyway. It is wrong to ignore children's teeth. If a child's deciduous teeth are broken, he or she needs to seek medical attention in time. If the crown of a deciduous tooth is broken and the dental nerve is exposed, a pulpotomy is usually performed to prevent infection of the affected tooth, otherwise it will affect the development of permanent teeth in the future; if the root of a deciduous tooth is broken, no treatment is required and the condition should be observed: if the deciduous tooth is completely embedded in the alveolar socket and the embedding direction is biased towards the palate, and the root apex of the deciduous tooth is inclined towards the permanent tooth germ, the deciduous tooth should be extracted to avoid possible damage to the permanent tooth germ.

3. Restore the tooth prototype

A small part of the cutting end of the crown can be broken off and then restored to its original shape by bonding with resin material. Pay attention to any discoloration of the teeth and follow up. Cervical part: Root canal filling is performed first, then a cast metal post is cemented into the root canal, and then the crown is bonded back. Broken tooth root: At this time, the tooth needs to be extracted and a space maintainer is made. After adulthood, dentures or dental implants can be used to repair the tooth.

If a permanent tooth is broken, it is indeed a bit troublesome. First of all, we need to look at the situation. Front tooth fractures can be divided into two types: crown fractures and root fractures. If a child's dental crown is accidentally broken and the dental pulp (commonly known as the dental nerve) is not exposed, the doctor will use composite resin materials to repair the broken and defective area. The color and strength of the composite resin are similar to those of real teeth, which will not affect the child's appearance and avoid psychological impact on the child.
