What to do if your baby teeth fall out?

What to do if your baby teeth fall out?

When children reach a certain age, they will automatically change their teeth, and the original deciduous teeth will fall out. At this time, parents actually need to take care of the gaps in their children, because the position of the fallen deciduous teeth may bleed. If the care is not proper at this time, the wound will easily become infected. In addition, you should also pay attention to the way your child brushes his teeth.

How to take care of baby teeth

1. Switch to drinking milk from a cup as soon as possible:

Young children tend to resist toothbrushes. Mothers can use gauze dipped in a little fluoride mouthwash to clean and wipe the baby's deciduous teeth, or use finger sleeves (available on the market, with granules on them) for cleaning. After one year old, starting from about 15 months, you can use a children's toothbrush to brush the baby's teeth. In addition, your baby should be allowed to drink milk from a cup at the latest after one year old. It is recommended to use a training cup to help him quit drinking the bottle, and start using it before bedtime. At the same time, avoid drinking from the bottle while sleeping, and each drinking time should be controlled within 20 minutes.

2. Use gap filling agents to reduce the chance of tooth decay:

Some teeth have uneven grooves, especially the biting surface, which are difficult for parents to clean with a toothbrush, so tooth decay can easily start from these gaps. It is recommended to ask a pediatric dentist to use a groove sealant (a transparent or colored resin) to fill the grooves to facilitate cleaning and reduce the chance of tooth decay.

3. Even if you drink breast milk, the cleaning steps are still necessary:

The care of deciduous teeth for babies who are breastfed and those who are formula-fed is the same. If it is unavoidable to drink milk while sleeping, breastfed babies are also prone to tooth decay, and parents must not neglect it. In addition, if you take your first baby tooth to a dentist for examination when it grows, you can detect tooth decay in time when it first starts, and provide teeth cleaning, fluoride application, and take remedial measures, while reminding parents of things to pay attention to.

Some parents neglect the importance of getting rid of bottles and pacifiers. Their children are already one or two years old but are still using bottles and pacifiers, which can cause problems such as an upturned mouth, affected tooth occlusion, and even inability to close the mouth. If the baby can see a dentist as early as possible, the doctor can examine him and prevent problems from occurring.
