What to do if baby has intestinal gas? Here are some ways to deal with it!

The gastrointestinal function of infants is not yet perfect, and their digestive ability is very limited. If parents are not careful and feed the baby the wrong food, it will cause intestinal gas in the baby. The baby will obviously feel a lot of gas in the baby's stomach, and the baby will feel uncomfortable, which will also endanger the baby's health. So how to solve the problem of intestinal gas in infants?

1. Avoid eating gas-producing foods

If the baby is breastfed and often has bloating, the mother should try to avoid eating foods that are likely to cause bloating. If the child's bloating is relieved after the mother has controlled her diet, then the mother should stay away from foods that are likely to cause bloating for a period of time.

If your child gets bloated after drinking milk powder, you can try changing to another brand of milk powder. When changing milk powder, try to choose lactose-free, soy-free or hypoallergenic formula milk.

2. Use the correct feeding posture

When breastfeeding, let your baby latch on to most of the nipple and areola. When using a bottle to feed, if you hear a bubbling sound or see milk flowing out from the corners of the baby's mouth, it means that the baby is not holding the nipple tightly. At this time you should position your baby's head at 45 degrees and tilt the bottle accordingly so that the milk fills the nipple. In addition, the size of the nipple hole should be appropriate to the baby's age.

Parents also need to be aware that they should not wait until their baby is so hungry that he cries loudly before feeding him. If the child cries very hard, parents should calm him down before feeding him.

3. Pat the baby’s back after feeding

After feeding the baby, do not put the baby on the bed immediately. Instead, hold the baby upright with the child's head resting on the adult's shoulder, then gently pat the child's back with your hand until the child burps before letting him lie down.

4. Use the football hold

Parents can let the baby lie face down on their arms and support the baby's head with their palms.

5. Abdominal massage

When the baby's stomach is bloated, you can rub your palms to warm them, lift up the baby's belly clothes, aim your palms at the baby's belly button, and gently massage in a clockwise direction. Because the baby's skin is more sensitive, the mother must be gentle when massaging. Do it once in the morning and once in the afternoon, 50 times each time. Note that the massage should be done at least half an hour after feeding.

You can also let the baby lie on his back, then gently lift his legs, let the baby bend his knees and bring them close to his abdomen, which can also indirectly massage the belly.

6. Use simple medicines

Babies suffer from abdominal bloating and pain because they are too young and their gastrointestinal digestive ability is too weak. You can give your baby probiotics such as "Mommy Love" according to the doctor's advice to regulate the baby's gastrointestinal tract and help him digest.
