What are the symptoms of irregular heartbeat in children?

The heart is the most important organ in the human body, and blood flow throughout the body depends on heart function to maintain. However, the heart is very fragile and can be easily hurt in life. Children’s physical constitution is relatively poor, and the functions of their organs are not fully developed, so heart problems are very likely to occur. Arrhythmia is a very common disease in children. So, what are the symptoms of arrhythmia in children?

Symptoms of Irregular Heartbeat:

1. Palpitations (a condition in which the patient can feel the heartbeat getting faster and heavier);

2. Slow heartbeat is also a symptom of arrhythmia;

3. Symptoms of arrhythmia also show irregular heartbeat;

4. The heart pauses between beats. Arrhythmia caused by serious diseases is often accompanied by some symptoms, including dizziness, chest tightness, chest pain, shortness of breath, sweating, pale face, cold limbs, convulsions, coma, etc. People with mild arrhythmia can still work and study as usual.

Arrhythmia prevention:

1. Prevent inducing factors:

Once diagnosed, patients are often highly nervous, anxious, depressed, seriously concerned, frequently seek medical treatment, and urgently request medication to control arrhythmias, while completely ignoring the cause. The prevention and treatment of predisposing factors often leads to overshadowing the main issue and putting the cart before the horse. Common predisposing factors include: smoking, alcoholism, overwork, tension, excitement, overeating, indigestion, colds and fever, excessive salt intake, low blood potassium and magnesium, etc. Patients can combine the actual situation of previous illnesses, summarize experience, and avoid possible predisposing factors, which is simpler, safer and more effective than taking medication alone.

2. Stable emotions:

Maintain a calm and stable mood, relax mentally, and don't be overly nervous. Among mental factors, especially nervous emotions, can easily induce arrhythmias, so patients should treat it with a calm attitude, avoid being too happy, too sad, or too angry, don't care about trivial matters, comfort themselves when encountering things, and don't watch exciting TV or ball games.

3. Self-monitoring:

When arrhythmia is not easy to be caught, the patients themselves are most able to discover the problem. Some arrhythmias often have precursor symptoms. If they are discovered in time and measures are taken in time, the recurrence of arrhythmias can be reduced or even avoided. If clinical symptoms of arrhythmia are found, active treatment should be given under the guidance of medical staff to prevent delaying the disease and causing serious consequences and irreversible complications. Patients with atrial fibrillation often have precursor signs or prodromal symptoms, such as palpitations and an increase in "missing pulses" when feeling the pulse. At this time, resting early and taking oral diazepam can prevent problems before they occur.

If your child has arrhythmia, parents should let their children eat more foods containing high levels of calcium and vitamins. These foods can ensure the nutrition and metabolism of the myocardium. Children should also eat more fruits and vegetables, such as bananas, celery, etc. Don't feed your children foods that are high in fat and cholesterol.
