(III) TCM Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment of Otitis Externa

The disease belongs to the category of ear sores in traditional Chinese medicine, which is mostly caused by wind-heat invasion or excessive heat toxicity. The treatment should be to dispel wind and heat, detoxify and reduce swelling.

1. Take the oral medicine Yinqiao Pills and Niuhuang Jiedu Pills orally twice a day.

2. External medications: ① Apply Coptis chinensis paste and Zijin tablets to the external auditory canal. ② Grind equal amounts of Chinese medicine calamus and aconite into powder and mix with sesame oil and drip into the ear. ③If accompanied by swelling around the ears. It can be mixed with water for external application (i.e. grind Phellodendron amurense into powder, add equal amount of gypsum and cold boiled water to make a paste and apply it to the swollen area around the ear or apply a hot and damp towel to the area).

2. 4 symptoms of baby's external otitis

1. Severe pain: If the skin of the external auditory canal is damaged and infected, pus will form. Under the long-term stimulation of pathogenic bacteria, there will be severe pain in the external auditory canal, especially when eating and chewing food, the symptoms will worsen and scatter to the surrounding areas.

2. Blockage of the external auditory canal: This disease can cause local swelling of the external auditory canal. Since the external auditory canal is narrow, long and small, it is easy to cause blockage. When the symptoms are severe, tinnitus will occur, causing hearing loss in the patient.

3. Purulent secretions: Due to bacterial infection of the ear canal, inflammation occurs in the ear canal and pus is caused. From time to time, secretions will flow out of the patient's ears, and there will be itching symptoms. The patient can't help but pick his ears, which will aggravate the condition and cause more serious consequences.

4. External auditory canal furuncle: This disease mostly occurs in the cartilage part of the ear canal. In the early stage, it is just very painful and accompanied by high body temperature. As the furuncle matures, the ear pain will disappear. After puncture, there will be a large amount of pus inside.

Parents and friends must do relevant preventive work, pay more attention to the health care of children's ears, pay attention to ear hygiene, let children grow up healthily, live healthily, and stay away from various diseases.
