Symptoms of psychological disorders in children

Many parents now hold the mentality that as long as their children can grow up happily, it doesn’t matter whether they study well or not. Because there are many examples that have made parents understand that putting too much pressure on children will affect their psychology, and some may even cause psychological disorders in children. Parents should understand the manifestations of children's psychological disorders. If they find that their children have abnormal behavior, they must pay attention to it.

1. The harm of children's psychological disorders

Stress responses and maladaptive responses. Emergency response is a reaction caused by unexpected danger or stressful situations. In mild cases, it manifests as emotional tension, sensory hypersensitivity, panic, fatigue, etc. Severe cases include depression, fear, anxiety, stupor, amnesia and autonomic dysfunction (such as palpitations, sweating, anorexia, urgency to urinate, tremors, etc.).

Mild mental illness, namely neurosis, also known as neurosis, is a psychological disorder or abnormality caused by a temporary disorder of brain function. Common ones include neurasthenia, anxiety, hysteria, obsessive-compulsive neurosis, phobia, and depressive neurosis.

Psychosomatic illness refers to physical dysfunction or organic damage induced by psychosocial factors, such as complications of heart disease, gastrointestinal ulcers, asthma, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, menstrual disorders, neurodermatitis, etc.

Severe mental illnesses are characterized by a complete collapse of the psychological functions of child patients, mainly including schizophrenia, mania, depression, etc.

Personality disorder is a manifestation of imperfect psychological development and can last a lifetime.

2. Causes of children's psychological disorders

The first cause occurs during the perinatal period. There are many reasons for children's psychological disorders, some of which occur during the perinatal period. If a woman suffers from an infectious disease, poisoning, malnutrition, abdominal trauma during pregnancy, or if the child is born with suffocation, hypoxia, dystocia, birth injuries, etc., some children may develop psychological disorders.

The second is the lack of formal education in kindergarten. Relatively speaking, the children in the three kindergartens are lively, cheerful, sociable, disciplined and polite. Such children generally do not have any serious psychological disorders, while some home-based children will appear overly shy and afraid of seeing people. Once they are in an unfamiliar environment, they will find it difficult to adapt, which will lead to psychological disorders.

The third factor is family environment. The causes of children's psychological disorders are closely related to family environment factors. Generally speaking, children from disharmonious families or divorced parents will have inferiority complex, depression, eccentric personality, irritability, etc., which will cause abnormal psychology in children; improper education methods are also the main cause of children's psychological disorders. Some parents are indulgent and submissive to their children, which will cause children to develop proud, selfish, willful and bad character; another reason is inconsistent education methods.

As a parent of a child with a mental disorder, it is best to refer to the contents of this article in a timely manner, understand the causes of children's mental disorders and the harm of mental disorders, pay attention to children's mental disorders, and take timely measures to treat them.
