How to treat enuresis in children?

How to treat enuresis in children?

If a child has enuresis, you should pay more attention to the child's mental or physical condition. If a child reaches the stage where he or she can understand things and can urinate and defecate on his or her own, he or she generally will not have enuresis. If it does happen, it may be related to several reasons, such as drinking too much water, excessive fatigue and mental stress, excessive excitement, etc.

1. Eliminate children’s nervousness and never punish or hit them.

It must be pointed out that bedwetting can easily make children become shy, anxious, fearful and timid. If parents do not take into account the self-esteem of their children and resort to beating, scolding and punishment, it will make the children feel more aggrieved and depressed, and increase their psychological burden. In this way, the symptoms of bedwetting will not only not be alleviated, but will be aggravated. When treating children with enuresis, treatment can only be carried out with comfort and encouragement. This is very important and is a prerequisite for the success of treatment.

2. Do not drink water before going to bed (except in summer)

Drink less water after evening, and eat less liquid food for dinner, preferably salty and dry food. Do not drink water before going to bed (except in summer), and do not eat juicy fruits such as watermelon, raw pears, oranges, and milk to reduce the amount of urine stored in the bladder at night.

3. Cultivate regular living, eating and sleeping habits for children

Good habits are important, and children's living, eating and daily life should be regular. Avoid letting your child become overly tired and stressed. It is best to let your child take a nap to avoid sleeping too deeply at night and being easily woken up to urinate.

4. Don’t let your child get too excited before bedtime

Parents should not play with their children, let them do strenuous activities, or watch thrilling or tense movies or TV shows before going to bed, so as not to make their children overly excited.

5. Encourage your child to urinate before bed

Before going to bed every night, parents should tell their children to urinate cleanly and thoroughly to empty the urine in the bladder.
