What should I do if my child has ADHD?

Many parents worry that their children will not be able to be cured after they are diagnosed with ADHD. In current medical research, there has been remarkable progress in the treatment of ADHD, and many cases of ADHD have been effectively controlled. Usually, in terms of treatment methods, drug treatment is the main choice in the early stages, and physical and psychological methods, language and psychological counseling are the main choices in the middle and late stages of the disease, to provide children with early rehabilitation training.

1. Drug treatment

Most ADHD patients show improvement in hyperactive behavior or cognitive function after taking medication, but the dosage is difficult to control and the side effects of the drugs can lead to malnutrition affecting bone growth and development, and discontinuation of the medication may cause behavioral rebound (behavioral symptoms that are more severe than before taking the medication). This requires that during the medication process, the control of drug dosage and the evaluation of drug efficacy must be done professionally, accurately and reliably.

2. Physical therapy

Transcranial microcurrent stimulation therapy stimulates the brain through microcurrent, which can directly regulate the brain to secrete a series of neurotransmitters and hormones that help improve the symptoms of ADHD and Tourette syndrome, such as endorphins and acetylcholine. These hormones are involved in regulating many physiological and psychological activities of the human body, and can comprehensively improve the manifestations of ADHD and Tourette syndrome, such as emotional instability, irritability, and hyperactivity.

3. Psychotherapy

It mainly focuses on the emotions, interpersonal relationships, self-cognition and other aspects of ADHD, which are very beneficial for ADHD to adapt to society and develop themselves, but has no obvious effect on the symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder itself. It can be used as a routine auxiliary treatment for ADHD.

4. Behavioral therapy

It has a significant effect on improving behavior. It is mainly reflected in self-management, time management, school and family behavior control and other aspects. Behavioral therapy is an essential treatment for ADHD. If medication alone is used for treatment, the effect will likely disappear when the medication is stopped. However, if behavioral treatment is used simultaneously, certain effective behavioral characteristics will be maintained after medication is stopped.
